When life tells you no, find a way to keep

things in perspective. That doesn’t make the painful moments

any less painful. But it does mean you don’t have to live forever in the pain.
You don’t have to live forever in that ‘no.’

Because if you know what you’re capable of, if you’re always prepared, and you
keep things in perspective, then life has a way of turning ‘no’ into ‘yes.

Never doubt that the smallest step can create

the most sweeping change
I know that many of our graduating cadets have had mixed emotions for the past few days.
It must be difficult to contain the excitement and jubilation, as well as the expectations and
apprehensions, that graduation brings.
But we need to acknowledge your overwhelming feelings — for they remind you of the life
you have to leave behind and at the same time, they transport you to a new world of
service to the nation.
The training and education that you have gone through in the Academy are just part and
parcel of the kind of soldier that all of you will become.
You have been trained and molded like all other cavaliers, but your true self will make the
officer, soldier and leader in you.

May the values and learning imparted to you during your years in the Academy be engraved
in your hearts and may these guide you wherever life leads you.
After this important milestone in your academic journey, you must exert greater effort to make something out of it. You should face
the future with confidence and dedicate yourselves to more hard work and with greater diligence and perseverance

Nobody among you truly knows what the future holds, but that is all the more reason to work harder to prepare yourselves to
become individuals of character and with great potentials.

Students must continue to tread on, to study and stay in school even when it becomes difficult. Education is your best chance at a
better and brighter future,
