Chapter 3

METHODOLOGY

This chapter present the methods of research use in this study. This includes the research
design, locale of the study, participants of the study, plan of action, data gathering procedure,
data gathering instrument, and data analysis.

Research Design

The study employ a descriptive survey that administered questionnaire. Quantitative research
allows the researchers to familiarize them with the problem or concept to be studied, Descriptive
survey attempts to establish the range and distribution of social characteristics, such as education
or training, occupation and location, and to discover how these characteristics may be related to
certain behavior patterns or attitudes. In this study, researchers aim to determine the drinking
habit of family members that influence the student's misbehavior on the Grade 9 students of
Camalanda-an National High School.

Locale of the Study

This study will be conduct to the Grade 9 student of Camalanda-an National High School, the
only high school from Barangay Camalanda-an, Municipality of Cauayan, Province of Negros
Occidental. The school is located 13 kilometers from Barangay Tuyom and National High Way,
and 21 kilometers from the Municipality of Cauayan headed by Ricky A. Dela Cruz, Principal 1.

Participants of the Study

The participants of the study are the of 9 students of Camalanda-an National High School,
S.Y. 2019-2020. There are four section in the Grade 9, each section consist of 44 students. The
researchers use the stratified random sampling.

Plan of Action

The study will conduct following the researchers plan of activities from July 2017- February
2018. The researchers secure the approval to conduct to the different subjective authority.
Pre-implementation

During the Pre-implementation stage, the researchers ask for a permission from the school
head to conduct the study in the school and also ask for class adviser to provide the needed data
for the study. After the approval, the researchers will formulate a research questions that will
help in determining the influence of drinking habit of family members to the student's
misbehavior. The said questionnaire will be subject to validity and reliability test.

Data Gathering Instrument

The researchers utilize a self-survey questionnaire in determining the influence of drinking

habit of family member to students misbehavior. The questionnaire consists of 3 areas: student
profile, economic status and parent-related factors

Data Analyses

The data gather and consolidate are use in analyzing the data is base on the corresponding
statistical analysis.

To determine what socio-demographic profile and the influence of drinking habit of family to
student misbehavior.

To determine the significant difference on the drinking habit of family members to students
misbehavior.
