Sugod, your science teacher for today. Always at the service of the
Filipino learners.
II. PRAYER
- Before anything else, please stand and let us have a short prayer first.

III. ATTENDANCE/PRELIMINARIES
- Once again, Good morning! Before you take your seats, I want you take
up pieces of papers under your desk.
- Now, I want you to take your notebook and pens to take down notes.

IV. REVIEW
- Before we open our brand new topic, let us first have a short review in our
previous topic to know if you still remember our lesson last meeting.
- So last time we discussed about, yes Van? Okay, very good! Last meeting
we have tackled about CELL. And also, Protein Synthesis!
- Who can define what is a cell? Okay, very good. A cell is the basic unit of
all Living Things. Inside a cell there is a structure we call a Nucleus, right?
Which is the central part of the cell. Inside a nucleus, there is a genum – it
is split between 23 pairs of chromosomes. Each chromosome contain a
very long strand of DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid), the one that is
responsible for carrying the genetic material.
- On the other side, What is protein synthesis? Okay, very good. In order
for our body to function we need to supply it with a variety of nutrients we
get from our dietary food. And in order for these nutrients to be absorbed
by our body, it needs the help of Protein. But how is protein being
synthesized? Through what expression? Very good. Gene Expression.
Gene expression can be divided into two processes. We have
transcription and translation. TRANSRIPTION Is the process by which
DNA is copied to RNA, and that by which RNA is used to produce proteins
is called TRANSLATION.
- With that, I THINK EVERYONE DID A GREAT JOB LAST MEETING!

V. MOTIVATION
- This time I will present to you a short video clip and I will be asking a
several questions regarding the video. This would give you an idea of
what will be our lesson for today. So, please listen very carefully.
VI. LESSON PROPER
- So what did you observed in the presented video clip? Okay, very good!
- It shows the different living and non-living things.
Living Things: Plants and animals
Non-Living Things: Water, rock, soil, and sunlight

Now, based on the video what do you think is our lesson for today? Anyone?

Okay, Very good! Our topic for today is all about the “COMPONENTS OF AN
ECOSYSTEM”.

PROCEED TO THE PPT..

VII. LEARNING OBJECTIVES

- For today’s lesson, let me introduce to you our learning objectives. At the
end of this lesson you are expected to:
 Define an ecosystem;
 Differentiate biotic from abiotic component;
 Enumerate the different biotic and abiotic components of an
ecosystem; and
 Recognize the importance of abiotic component to an
ecosystem.

VIII. EXPLORE
IX. CONTINUE DISCUSSION

X. ELABORATE
- PUT ME IN!!!
Directions: Students will be divided into two. Each group will list down
maximum 10 examples of biotic and abiotic components of ecosystem that
can be found in their respective areas. Each group will be given 5 minutes
to brainstorm and another 5 minutes to present their output.
The teacher will ask the students.
Question to be asked: Based on your answers in the activity, what is the
importance of these in your daily living?
