DIALOG INTERVIEW
Michael : Good morning, I have an interview call, where should I go?

Secretary : Ohh you can wait here

michael : ok thank you

(the secretary enters the room to call Mr. Paul)

Secretary : Excuse me, sir, the person who will be interviewed has arrived

Paul : Well I'll be out in a moment

Secretary : ok sir.

(the secretary comes out of the room Mr. Paul)

Secretary : Mr. Marten will be with you in a moment. He’s just finishing a phone call

Michael : Thank you

Secretary : Would you like some coffee?

Michael : Yes, that would be great. Milk no sugar, please

Secretary : Here you are

Michael : Thank you. Is this the whole department?

Secretary : No, no, not at all. On this floor we have the trainee accountants and the

bookkeepers

Michael : Uh-huh. And does everyone work in the open-plan area?

Secretary : No. Some of the managets have individual offices.the two big

offices on the left are for the company treasurer and for our senior tax

accountant. The offices on the right are four our cost accountant and for our

budget manager

Michael : And the office in the corner of the open-plan area?


Secretary : That's used by our: back-offiée manager

Michael : And you have officès downstairs as well

Secretary : Yes, that's correct. Downstairs are the internal auditors and at the

moment, we have a team of external auditors. They're in one of the

conference rooms at the end of the corridor

Michael : I see

Secretary : Ah, mr. Martens. This is Michael Rogers, yes.

Paul : Hello, Michael. I'm Paul. Pleased to meet you. Sorry for making you wait.

Please come in and have a seat. Did you have a nice flight.

Michael : Yes, thank you, Paul. Finding the office is a bit more difficult, though. I am

very happy that many people here in Jakarta can speak English.

Paul : Oh yes, we are very international here. But that's not a bad thing, I must say.

Michael : A little mix of cultures is good, right?

Paul : You are absolutely right. Would you like to start by telling us a little about

your experience, Michael? Your CV is very impressive. And then, I'll fill you

in on our group, and any special requirements we have for this position.

Michael : Yeah that's fine. I guess you can tell from my CV that I studied economics in

New York.

Paul : OK, before that I will interview you with my colleague.

Diana : Introducing me Diana, I will help Mr. Paul to assess this interview.

Paul : All right, please sit down and start explaining yourself as interestingly as

possible.

Michael : Of course I can do that. Good morning and first of all, I would like to thank
you for this interview opportunity that has been given to me. My name is

Michael thomas and I am 26 years old. Now I live here in Jakarta, but I was

born and raised in New York.

Paul : why do you want to join this field?

Michael : I applied for this field because it suits my competence and I have expertise in

accounting.

Diana : Do you have previous work experience?

Michael : I used to work at Chevron New York City.

Paul : Wow, that's a big company there.

Diana : Then why do you want to come to our company? even though you have a

good job.

Michael : I quit there because my wife is from Jakarta so I decided to go with my wife.

Diana : Is your wife Indonesian?

Michael : Yes, he is from East Kalimantan but we are staying in Jakarta

Paul : How much is the UMR salary there?

Michael : Around US 3721.64 or equivalent to IDR 55.1 million per month.

Diana : What if we don't give the same salary as the UMR standard?

Paul : You know the UMR in Indonesia, but we still give according to your

performance.

Michael : Yes, I agree if you give me half of my previous salary.

Diana : All right. if so but what if you have to work late?

Michael : Yes I also agree with that.

Paul : Not only do we need skilled employees, but we also need employees who can
easily blend into the company environment.

Michael : I think for that I can handle that I'm a very easy person to mingle with.

Diana : That's great, Mister Michael.

Paul : Michael, may I know what is your biggest weakness?

Michael : I get bored easily, but I don't think that's a weakness, because I like

challenging things.

Paul : Okay, that's great Michael because this position is definitely very challenging.

Diana : It is not only challenging but also requires honesty and a very big

responsibility.

Michael : I will definitely take full responsibility for that.

Paul : What if you make a mistake are you ready to accept the consequences?

Michael : I'm ready to accept any consequences if I'm negligent in my work.

Diana : And what if you are not accepted in this company?

Michael : I will look for other possible job opportunities, of course I will try to work, I

am not a person who gives up easily.

Paul : OK, Mister Michael, thank you for taking part in this interview process. In

the near future, I will provide information regarding the results.

Diana : Maybe a week or so at the latest.

Michael : Well, I'll be waiting for good news from the company.

Paul : Okay Michael, I hope you get some good news.

Michael : Thank you for your time.

(Michael leaves the room to meet the Secretary)

Secretary : How about an interview with Mr. Michael.


Michael : I think it's going well.

Secretary : Well it seems you are not nervous at all.

Michael : I am very confident that I will be accepted here.

Secretary : Alright Mister Michael I hope we can meet again in this office.

Michael : Thanks for the support.

Secretary : Well then I'll say goodbye first.

Michael : Okay fine.
