Sebas: Welcome everyone to this video summary of the "saving drops" podcast.

The topic of the use of rainwater was discussed, which was defined as an ancient technique for
supplying water to human populations. This type of practice has been lost over time and the
importance of this practice was discussed.

Katie: The topic of how rainwater is born was covered. And we learned that they are formed
thanks to the clouds that cover us every day. They originate due to changes in atmospheric
pressure, or in the temperature itself, as well as the humidity of the environment.

Chris: We learned that its main characteristic is that it is for domestic use (watering plants, for the
bathroom, drains, etc.) and industrial use.

We also discuss their benefits and disadvantages such as:

Diana:

Benefits

1. (one) On the economic side it is a source of free water.

2.(two) On the ecological side, it is pure and natural water.

3. (three) It is a sustainable system

Disadvantages

1.(one)Not available all year round

2.(two)The amount of water depends on the rainfall of the site.

3.(three)It is not drinkable without prior treatment

4. (four) In case of acid rain, it is not suitable for this type of practice.

May: In addition, some types of rainwater harvesting systems were mentioned.

1. Filters
2. Modular underground tanks
3. Decorative tanks
4. Outdoor modular tanks (tinaco)

Jose: On the other hand, it was discussed how to implement it in the school, to distribute the
income in a correct way so that more of it can be used to buy water collection products.
And how it would help her and her students:

1.For toilet water. 2.Irrigation of green areas. 3.Cleanliness of the facilities.

Fer: So why recover rainwater? Thanks to previous research, it was found to be clean and pure as
it does not contain lime or chlorine and it is also FREE. Rainwater can replace 50% of a household's
water use, which represents a lifetime saving of resources.

Jorge: The podcast concludes that this kind of practices are good to take care of our planet, but it
has to be taken into account that not all of us can do them, because not all of us have the
economic resources or because in the place where we are located it would be something difficult
to do, making the expenses greater than what is obtained.

And that's all for today's video, we hope you enjoy it.

THANK YOU!!!
