Action for Economic Reforms

Unit 1403 West Trade Center

132 West Avenue
Quezon City

I am expressing my interest in the vacant Research Associate role. My interest in the open post
is spurred by two things: the desire to work in the development sector in a research capacity,
and to do meaningful, impactful, and socially beneficial work for an organization that wishes to
do the same.

Much of my experience is within, or adjacent to, the development sector. Currently, I am a

Research Assistant for Thruline Networks, a San Francisco-based, impact investment-focused
project and program management firm centered on building resilient solutions in infrastructure,
food and health. As a Research Assistant, I provide the research necessary to the company’s
client services, as well as to the company’s thought leadership within the sustainability space.
Some of the projects that I played a major part in include:

● Providing supplemental market and policy research for the establishment of Block
Solutions Omaha, a subsidiary of the Finnish sustainable construction materials
company Block Solutions Oy
● Gathering of relevant experts and speakers for World Rainforest Day 2022
● Reporting and analysis of CORSIA’s effectiveness as a carbon credit scheme for the
Dikembe Mutombo-founded United Carbon Citizens
● Creation of a guest list composed of relevant experts for the company’s weekly
thought leadership sessions on Clubhouse

Previously, I was with the Asian Institute of Management, under the Basant and Sarala Birla
Professorial Chair for Asian Family Corporations, working in a technical capacity and assisting
in project management and event organization, assisting with the logistics and documentation of
the 2019 Family Business Asia Pacific Symposium. I also assisted in completing backlogged
tasks, transcribing over 20 hours of conferences, interviews, and lectures.

I also apprenticed in the Asian Institute of Management - Ramon V. Del Rosario Center for
Social Responsibility, assisting the center in conducting the Manila phase of the Public-Private
Dialogue, a stakeholder consultation event to develop feasible and practical economic policy
recommendations, specifically for MSMEs. I was tasked to write reports, event write-ups,
transcriptions, and conduct supplementary research in support of the event.

As a result of these aggregated experiences within the greater development sector, I have the
following skills that will allow me to prosper in the open role:

● Policy/Economic Research and Analysis

● Written and oral presentation of research findings
● Transcription and content analysis
● Collaboration, brainstorming, and conceptualization

I can contribute the same, and more, to the project by providing necessary supplementary
research for a given project, assisting in the treatment of data, and assisting the team with the
project implementation, more specifically on event documentation and newsletter writing,
crafting project reports and logistical materials, and overall project management assistance.

Moreover, the willingness to work in an environment involved in policy development, advocacy,

governance, and economic development, the ability to provide relevant input and ideas, coupled
with an overall strong commitment to excellence make me a qualified and competitive candidate
for the role.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Live long and prosper.
