PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS/STRAND:

The recent COVID-19 pandemic is one of the
most recent public health disasters on a global scale
that affects every sector of industry not only here in
the Philippines but globally. One of the affected
sector is the Department of Education, where in
most countries around the world have temporarily
paused their educational institution to limit the
spread of the virus. As a result of the pandemic,
community has been lockdown for months.
Community quarantine is common and students and
teachers in the various part of the country has been
forced to study and work from home.
In the face of this continuing health threat, the
Department of Education (DEpEd) formulated the Basic
Education Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) to put into
motion the marching orders of the secretary: ensure
that the learning continues while guaranteeing the
health, safety and well being of all learners, teachers
and other DepEd employees. Safety is one of the most
common concern that is why different protocols
prevail.

This LDM Course helps us to assess our strengths

and weaknesses, including our learners. We faced a lot
of difficulties but this helped us to gain knowledge,
skills and mindset that are necessary in this new
normal setup. It helps us to ensure the quality of
learning that we as teachers are providing to our
learners amidst of this pandemic. At first it is difficult,
but we need to cope up with the changes we have in
order to survive. This changes also is an opportunity for
us learn more. It helped us to be creative and
innovative when it comes to the implementation of
distance learning delivery modality.
