Oil Life & Deposit Control
Proprietary Rig Test
Oil life, deposit control, and anti-wear performance of hydraulic oil are measured by comparing ratings and photos at end
of test in comprehensive proprietary hydraulic fluid durability test rig.
• Typical parts evaluated for varnish/deposit per CRC rating: Reservoir, Filters and Magnet.
• Better replicates real world conditions, making it more relevant than glassware tests
• Is used exclusively by ExxonMobil to help develop high-performing hydraulic oils
• Is recognized by global equipment builders and is used to support the extensive Mobil Equipment Builder / OEM
premium product endorsement program

Conclusions
• ExxonMobil has developed Mobil DTE™ 20 Ultra series, a new mono-
grade hydraulic fluid line.
• Mobil DTE 20 Ultra technology exceeds the excellent performance
already achieved by Mobil DTE 20 Series:
• Extending significantly oil drain intervals
• Providing improved thermal, oxidative & hydrolytic stability
• Maintaining excellent performance in other areas
• Target is to claim ‘2x oil life’ vs. Mobil DTE 20 based on proprietary
Keep-Clean test (MHFD) and suject to final field demonstration results.
• Competitive survey confirms significant improvement, especially in
deposit control performance and extended oil life, over Mobil DTE 20 and
main competitors.
• Mobil DTE 20 Ultra maintains excellent filterability/water tolerance &
corrosion protection over most competitors.
