The Bodo Peace Accord signed between the Central Government, Assam Government, and Bodo groups including factions of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militant group. It aims to redraw and rename the Bodoland Territorial Area District (BTAD) as the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) in Assam, which is spread across four districts connected to the Siliguri corridor. The accord addresses the demands of the Bodo community, which constitutes 5-6% of Assam's population and is the largest scheduled tribe. It represents the latest in a series of accords seeking to resolve Bodo aspirations for autonomy or statehood.
