Globalization
Globalization
as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO), is “the increased

interconnectedness and interdependence of peoples and countries. It is

generally understood to include two interrelated elements: the opening of

international borders to increasingly fast flows of goods, services, finance,

people and ideas; and the changes in institutions and policies at national and

international levels that facilitate or promote such flows.” It is a process of

interaction and integration among the people, companies and governments

of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment

and aided by information technology.

is a term used to describe how trade and

technology have made the world into a

more connected and interdependent

place.

systems of government
In many developed countries, there are laws that

protect workers and businesses by establishing strict

regulations for labor conditions, or the conditions in

which people work. This can be related to when and

how long they work, the amount they are paid, and the

availability of safety equipment and safeguards for the

workers. As globalization brings more developing

countries into the global marketplace, there is a need to

establish laws to protect workers around the world.
