SCHOOL PATROL GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES

Statement

It is mandated that all appropriate measures be undertaken to ensure that


school discipline is administered in a manner consistent with the child’s
human dignity, and in conformity with the Convention on the Rights of the
Child (CRC) (DepEd Order No. 40, s. 2012; Child Protection Policy).

The School Patrol system is designed to ensure that there is constant


monitoring of students’ whereabouts during school hours. There are reported
cases of students who cut class, loiter, disrupt other classes, and even engage
in deviant activity like smoking within the campus. Thus, with the
coordination of the office of the Supreme Student Government and School
Clinic, these guidelines are implemented with the permission of the School
Head.

Scope

The rules and strategies applied in Tagugpo National High School to manage
student behavior and practices used for learners’ discipline.

General Rule

This School Patrol System is designed to aid in instilling learner’s discipline


in Tagugpo National High School while following the Rights and

Responsibilities, and Obligations of the Learners as outlined in Batas


Pambansa Bilang 232, Section 9 and DepEd Order No. 40, s. 2012.

The School Patrol System

A. Class Program and Patrol In-Charge

In Tagugpo National High School, the schedule of classes and breaks


are as follows.

Based on the class program above, there are four class periods in the
morning and three class periods in the afternoon. During these class
periods, the teachers with no scheduled classes will set a random time
to patrol around the school campus to monitor students who are out of
classes. The SSG Adviser will be in-charge of the teachers’ schedule
during these hours. In the periods with no classes such as: flag
ceremony, recess, lunch break, and remedial classes; the Supreme
Student Government (SSG) Officers will be in-charge of the patrolling.

B. Hall Pass

Every classroom will each be given two hall passes. The subject teacher
will require the students to wear the hall pass whenever they leave the

classroom during classes for the following reasons: bathroom break,


clinic visit, special tasks, etc.
The School Patrol will call the attention of students who are outside the
classroom during class hours without wearing hall passes. They will be
logged accordingly.

C. School Patrol Log Book

The SSG Adviser will prepare a log book to document the events during
the school patrol. He/She will be in-charge of the safekeeping of the log
book. The School Patrol In-Charge will collect the log book during their
schedule and endorse it to the SSG Adviser promptly afterwards.

The log book will have the following information documented: (1) date
of incident, (2) time of incident, (3) name of student with offense, (4) grade

and section of the student with offense, (5) description of the student’s
offense, and (6) the initial of the school patrol.

Procedures for School Patrol

A. Periods with No Classes

1. The SSG’s Students’ Welfare Committee will set a schedule for their
members for the school patrol during flag ceremony, recess, lunch
break, and remedial classes.
2. The Student School Patrol during these periods will monitor the
school campus’ perimeter, classrooms, and facilities to check on the
students’ activities.
3. Hall passes are NOT required from students during these periods.
4. In the event that students are found committing offenses under the
disciplinary cases, their attention will be called.
5. They will subsequently be logged in the School Patrol Logbook.
6. Appropriate management and/or referral will ensue therein base on
the offense and its gravity as stipulated in the school’s rules and
regulations.
7. The school patrol will promptly endorse the School Patrol Logbook
and report any relevant events to the SSG Adviser 5 minutes before
their assigned period ends.
8. Under no circumstances will a student school patrol be
permitted to be tardy or absent from their classes because of
this role.

B. Class Periods

1. The SSG Adviser will set a schedule for teachers for the school patrol
during class periods based on the teachers’ schedules.
2. The assigned teacher for school patrol will allot at least 10 minutes
within his/her assigned class period to monitor the school campus
to check on students who are outside their classroom without HALL
PASSES during classes.
3. The attention of the student will be called to ascertain the reason for
them to be outside their classroom without the HALL PASS.
4. In the event that the student is found committing any offense under
the disciplinary cases, he/she will be logged in the School Patrol
Logbook.
5. Appropriate management and/or referral will ensue therein base on
the offense and its gravity as stipulated in the school’s rules and
regulations.
6. The school patrol will promptly endorse the School Patrol Logbook
and report any relevant events to the SSG Adviser before their
assigned period ends.

Procedure for Monitoring and Evaluation

1. The SSG Office will report to the respective advisers of students


logged in the School Patrol Logbook daily with the following details.

2. The class adviser will impose appropriate actions necessitated by the


offense incurred by their students.

3. Reviews will be conducted during faculty meetings or SLACs to


monitor the implementation, gaps, and necessary amendment to
this guidelines and procedures.
