Details:
· Cite an important person in Philippine Pharmacy Practice (the person could be from any field
of pharmacy practice; manufacturing, community, hospital, research, regulatory, education, etc.)
I want to acknowledge the first ten Presidents of Philippine Pharmacists Association, Inc.
(PPhA) who have contributed to the development of pharmacy practice through regulation,
industry, and organization since 1920 up to this present day.
Discuss his/her contributions or works that affected the landscape of the current practice of
pharmacy in the country.
Even though they only became Presidents of a certain association, their leadership also
served as a stronghold for PPhA. We all know that being the head or the leader is not that easy.
Sometimes leaders take all the decisions, risks, and responsibilities whatever may happen. PPhA
continue its Vision and Mission in enabling the Filipino pharmacists to be knowledgeable and
skilled, as well as globally competitive in the provision of high-quality health care. Their
contribution is to take the lead that results to competence, integrity, professionalism, altruism,
and solidarity.
The association’s mission is a great inspiration for pharmacists because they are
maintaining and enhancing professional nobility. From time to time the Philippine Pharmacists
Association, Inc. (PPhA) is showing growth and development until it became one of the
Outstanding Accredited Professional Organization. This association also proves that pharmacists
must be recognized as an equal among health care professionals. Pharmacists are not just a seller
to a pharmacy, pharmacists are more than that.
