ILTAM (Improvised Learning Tool in Answering Multiplication) Box: A tool to Improve the Multiplication
Skills of Grade 4 Learners in RCACES by utilizing Japanese Multiplication Method
Learning Competency:
The learner multiplies numbers up to 3-digit numbers by up to 2-digit numbers without or with
regrouping.
PROCESS:
Using the collaborative process and applying the Japanese Multiplication Method: ILTAM Box, the
learners are given an equal opportunity to work as a group and learn from each other that would help
them to solve a 3-digit numbers by up to 2-digit numbers in an innovative way which will improve their
multiplication skills.
Process to conduct:
1. Gather information about the least mastered skills in mathematics subject of Grade 4 learners.
3. Create a grade 4 mathematics lesson plan to integrate the ILTAM Box: Japanese Multiplication and
Collaboration

4. Ask permission to the school principal, mathematics coordinator, and classroom adviser to conduct
the study.
5. Gather data to determine if there is an improvement in the multiplication skills of Grade 4 learners.
