Course Title: MEEL 3a/2a (Alternative Energy Resources)
Course Credits: 3 Units Contact Hours/Week: 3
Course Description: : the course deals with the technology of harnessing energy from alternate or renewable energy sources other than
fossil fuels like wind, wave, water (or hydro) , sun and other sources of energy.
Prerequisite: ME 413 (Heat Transfer); ME 422 (ME Laboratory 2)
Course Learning At the end of this course, the students should be able to:

wave solar and geothermal.

Course Requirements Course Policies


Student must get a rating of 70% passing A student should have attended, at least, 80% of the total class hours; should have
percentage for his/her final grade. submitted all the requirements given to him/her; should have obtained an average rating
of 70% in all quizzes; and should have obtained a rating of, at least, 70% in the long, mid -
term and final examinations.

Grading System
Lecture Classroom and Academic Policies
Assignment/Recitation/Seatwork 15% 1. Cheating is punishable by a grade of 5.0.
Attendance 5% 2. Use of cellular phones are prohibited during classes, more so during examinations
Quizzes 20% of all types.
Midterm Exam 30% 3. No private discussions will be allowed other than topic being discussed by the
Final Exam 30% professor
100% 4. A clean sheet of A4 bond paper ready for a short quiz which is given unannounced
from time to time.
5. Behave during cigarette smoking inside the classroom.
6. Always bring class hours.
7. Non submission of problem set / assignment means absent.
8. Commission of more than 20% absences of the total class hours means automatic
dropout.
9. Wearing of slippers, shorts, spaghetti blouses, and other revealing clothes is
prohibited.
10. For the men, wearing of earrings is prohibited as spelled out in the University
Charter.
11. Long, Mid-Term and Final Examinations should be written on clean A4 bond paper
on one (1) side only. Instructions on how to answer the examination are to be
given in the questionnaire.
12. Excuse from classes and examinations may be honored only if VALID REASON is
presented.
13. Absence during a long, mid-term, or final examination without valid reason means
zero for that particular examination. Otherwise, if there is valid reason, a special
examination may be given upon mutual agreement of the student and professor as
to the schedule of said special examination.
14. Absence in a quiz means zero and no special quiz will be given quizzes will be
given unannounced.
15. There should be gender labeling
16. Catcalling is strictly prohibited
