Movie review of “Lord of the Rings”

“Lord of the Rings” is a trilogy of multiple genres. It’s an action movie

with adventure and fantasy. The first of the 3 films was released in
2001 and it’s called “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring”.
„The Fellowship of the Ring“ introduces us to Middle Earth, its
creatures, heroes and villains. The main character of the film is a Hobbit
named Frodo Baggins who lives in The Shire. The actor who plays the
role of Frodo is Elijah Wood. He is asked by the Gray wizard Gandalf,
played by Sir Ian McKellan, to carry a gold ring to Rivendell. There the
fate of the Middle Earth will be decided. Dwarfs, magicians, elves and
men will discuss how to beat the
reawakened Sauron, the Dark
Lord. Frodo, his best friends Sam
(Sean Astin), Merry (Dominic
Monaghan) and Pippin (Billy
Boyd) start their journey to
Rivendell. Later they find out
that the ring has dark powers
and many creatures are searching for it. During their journey they get
attacked and a mysterious man named Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen)
saves them and offers them help. Aragorn and the hobbits safely get to
Rivendell. An elf named Legolas (Orlando Bloom), a dwarf named Gimli
(John Rhys-Davies), a grey magician named Gandalf and 4 Hobbits all
became friends. Their mission is to get the Ring to Mount Doom and
destroy it once and for all.
The second movie of the trilogy is called “The Lord of the Rings: The
Two Towers”. The movie glues the whole story together. It deepens the
bond between the fellowship and adds new characters to the list. As
Sauron grows stronger, creating
huge armies of Orcs, the group
splits apart. Before they split,
Gandalf fights a Balrog. The fight
ends with both Gandalf and the
Balrog dying. The film shows us
how hard it is for Frodo to keep
his sanity. Meanwhile Aragorn,
Legolas and Gimli fight and with
the help of Gondor, they win the battle. Aragorn doesn’t want the
responsibility of ascending the throne but in order to unite all thr
people of Middle Earth, he must become the king of Gondor.
Meanwhile Merry and Pippin find themselves in a haunted forest full of
ents (Sentient trees). They also find the newly reborn Gandalf the
White. When the ents see what the white wizard Saruman has done to
their forest, they attack and destroy Isengard, where the traitorous
white wizard Saruman was creating armies of orcs for Sauron. In the
end, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli and Gondor win the battle but as Gandalf
says: “This battle may be over but the war for Middle Earth is about to
begin.”
The last movie of this amazing
trilogy marks the beginning of the
war. “The Lord of the Rings: The
Return of the King” is a
masterpiece. The film begins with
Frodo and Sam being almost in
front of Mount Doom. Meanwhile,
Aragorn and the others unite and attack Mordor, so all the armies will
focus on them. Frodo and Sam go inside Mount Doom and throw the
Ring in its lava. Finally, Sauron is defeated and peace is brought back to
the Middle Earth. Aragorn becomes the King of all men and Frodo
decides to leave and go with the elves into the Undying Lands.
My favorite movie is definitely the second one. It has all the amazing
aspects from the other two, but also manages to fill in all the plot holes
and leads towards the third film. I don’t personally have a favorite
scene because all the scenes are amazing.

I have watched these films multiple times and every time I watch them,
I find something new. The movies have the perfect mix of action, love
and jokes. The plot is full of twists and has an interesting timeline. “The
Lord of the Rings” is definitely my favorite trilogy of all time and I highly
recommend everyone to watch it.
