Year 12 Instrumental Scholarship Application Form
You are recommended to consult carefully the Music assessment criteria in the STAHS Scholarship Brochure before
submitting your application.
Assessment:
Auditions will take place on Tuesday 8 November 2022.
Candidates should offer two instruments (although an outstanding candidate with just one would be considered) and
will be expected to perform one or two contrasting pieces on the principal instrument and one on the second and any
other instrument offered.
Normally candidates will have reached a minimum standard of Grade 7 on their principal instrument.
The candidates will be required to sing a short, prepared piece unaccompanied and will also be given a sight-reading
test on one of their instruments, as well as aural and musicianship tests. They will also be interviewed by the Director
of Music.
Procedure:
Please complete and return this form (along with accompaniments) to our Music Administrator, Miss Edwards, at the
following address: St Albans High School for Girls, Townsend Avenue, St Albans, AL1 3SJ or by email to
