1. What is the National Building Code of the Philippines?
- The National Building Code of the Philippines aims to ensure that developers
conform to the implementation of modern technical knowledge on construction,
building design, occupancy, maintenance, and use
2. What is this RA 6541 all about?
- 6541 otherwise known as the National Building Code of the Philippines provides for
all buildings and structures a framework of minimum standards and requirements by
guiding, regulating, and controlling their location, siting, design, quality of materials,
construction, use, occupancy, and maintenance, including their environment, utilities,
fixtures, equipment, and mechanical electrical, and other systems and installations.
And it ensures that the property that you're going to build is quality and that it won't
obstruct the national safety.
3. What is the National Building code of the Philippines PD 1096 summary?
- Presidential Decree No. 1096 or the National Building Code of the Philippines was
enacted to formulate and adopt a uniform building code which shall embody up-to-
date and modern technical knowledge on building design, construction, use,
occupancy and maintenance.
4. What is the National Building Code rule 7 all about?
- The maximum height and number of storeys of proposed building shall be dependent
upon the character of use or occupancy, on the type of construction, on end-user
population density, light and ventilation, width of road right-of-way, building bulk, off-
street cum off-site parking requirements and local land use plan and zoning
regulations.

building official assigned in the place where the subject building is located or the
building work is to be done.
6. What is PD 957 Condominium Act?
- No installment payment made by a buyer in a subdivision or condominium project for
the lot or unit he contracted to buy shall be forfeited in favor of the owner or
developer when the buyer, after due notice to the owner or developer, desists from
further payment due to the failure of the owner or developer to develop the
subdivision or condominium project according to the approved plans and within the
time limit for complying with the same. Such buyer may, at his option, be reimbursed
the total amount paid including amortization interests but excluding delinquency
interests, with interest thereon at the legal rate.
7. Who is exempted in building permit?
- Painting, papering, tiling, carpeting, countertops, and similar finish work are exempt.
8. What is national building code?
- The national building code is the set of laws and regulations that apply to the
construction of buildings. Only buildings that conform to these laws are approved by
the government.

- One of the main reasons why the National Building Code is created is to ensure
public safety. All buildings must abide to certain principles of construction. All
materials that are needed must also be environmentally friendly.

- It is the policy of the government to create and maintain a healthy environment in
human settlements by providing open spaces, roads, alleys, and sidewalks as may
be deemed suitable to enhance the quality of life of the residents therein.
