Safety Symbols – Teacher Instructions
1. Place the safety symbol treasure hunt cards randomly around the classroom.

2. Hand out worksheet to each student

3. Students start at any card and look at the safety symbol, find that symbol on their worksheet

and write down letter (i.e. they are at card that shows Toxic symbol, they go to same symbol

on their worksheet and write letter “S”)

4. They then use the name, safety concerns, precaution and clue on card to work out the

picture of a different symbol on their worksheet

5. Having worked it out they copy the name, safety concerns and precaution onto their

worksheet next to that symbol

6. They next go to card that shows this symbol and write down letter shown and repeat 3-5

7. Once completed they can solve the letter anagram and be shown the answers to self-assess
