Senior Transport Planner

We’re looking for a Senior Transport Planner to join our dedicated and
knowledgeable team. Reporting through to our Transport Strategy
Manager and working alongside a number of high performing individuals,

What you’ll be doing


As a key member of our team, you’ll be providing technical advice planning
advice to the Transport Strategy unit. 
The role will involve:
Identifying best practice for transport planning ad contributing to
infrastructure strategic planning
Procurement and management of professional services
Acting as QLDC’s primary representative to external parties for Public
Transport integration and travel plans
Providing technical inputs to business cases, transport modelling, and
strategic documents
Contributing to infrastructure solutions for the Long Term Plan and
Annual Plan capital programme

What you’ll bring to the role


Urban Mobility, TDM, GPS, PT, FDS, BCR, VKT, Micromobility, Land use
integration, Community Shaping – if you can interpret these – this role is
for you! You’ll have a number of years experience as an engineer or planner
(or both!) and will enjoy keeping up to date with industry changes and best
practice. You’re innovative, forward-thinking, and have an agile approach to
working. A natural people person, you’ll enjoy the variety of internal and
external contacts you’ll have in this role and will be a strong communicator,
able to communicate with people of varying levels of knowledge. 
You’ll have:
Experience in project management and business case proposals
Knowledge of local government and Waka Kotahi procedures are an
advantage but not necessary
