POVERTY

Living in poverty can have a number of negative effects on a teen's life. Issues such as
low parental monitoring, living in high crime neighborhoods, witnessing violence in
the home and lack of financial stability can contribute to teen problems. Poor health
can be influenced by not having access to nutritious foods, adequate health care and
parental monitoring of eating habits. Also, A teen might feel uncomfortable around
peers or not be able to attend social events because of a lack of money. While these
issues may seem trivial, they can lead to more pronounced problems, such as
behavioral, social or emotional issues.

GENES
It is even suspected that family influence contributes to delinquent behavior more
than peer pressure. Research has proven that families in which there is no strong
emotional bonding tend to have juveniles who turn out to be delinquent. This is
because the juveniles may develop psychological problems like rejection and low
self-esteem, which may lead to delinquent behavior. Other causes of psychological
problems like trauma and low self-esteem are also linked to delinquency.

LOW INTELLIGENCE
Low intelligence is considered a risk factor since children with below-average
intelligence have a good chance of doing poorly in school. They may also have some
sort of mental retardation. Both of these factors are correlated with physical abuse
from the parents. Therefore, a child that has low intelligence and is also dealing with
parental abuse must face two external events that preclude delinquent outcomes.

FAMILY CONFLICT
Parental conflict has been linked to increased aggression, delinquency, and conduct
problems in children. Additionally, children are more likely to have social problems
and increased difficulty in adjusting to school. Children who are raised in high-
conflict homes are more likely to have negative views of their family relationships.
They are also more likely to view themselves in a negative way. Overhearing frequent
or intense fighting is stressful for kids. Stress can take a toll on their physical and
psychological well-being and interfere with normal, healthy development.
HYPERACTIVITY
Hyperactivity in children can affect their lives in many aspects from school to their
day-to-day lives. The persisting symptoms of hyperactivity can cause children to have
low self-esteem or poor performance in school. It may be suspected if the children in
the kindergarten have difficulty following group activities. hyperactive children are
hasty and impatient. They talk by interrupting others and they cannot focus for a long
time. They can make sudden movements, most of the time they can get into trouble
because they want to get what they want right away. For this reason, they can also be
left out socially. For most mothers it is quite difficult to control their children.
