National Safety Day Motivational Speech Inclusions:

Following are the important clues or stimulus that should be included in your National Safety Day
speech on 4th March 2014:

Our objective with this campaign is to prevent ALL incidents through awareness and safe behavior.

Background:

1) Theme for this year National Safety Day is “Manage stress at workplace and control hazards”.
2) Cushman & Wakefield is member of National Safety Council.
3) National Safety Council is a non-profit organization which deals with spreading awareness
amongst the masses regarding the safety in various spheres of life.
4) National Safety Council (NSC) was established on this day in 1966 and as an honor for such
noble cause, the foundation day of NSC was decided to be celebrated as National Safety Day in
1972.
5) C&W is committed for safety of all individuals related to it and mandate is to promote safety
culture in all parts of life – during work and at home too.
6) Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) is an integral part of operation activities at any site.

Message to Convey:

1) Safety is always important for us and everyone is part of it.


2) All incidents and injuries are preventable.
3) Everyone is obligated to refuse unsafe work and in same way everyone is obligated to raise
concerns about the hazards at workplace.
4) Everyone is accountable for safety performance. Life is very important, so safety starts from you
yourself.
5) All safety regulations and guidelines are prepared to reduce the risk that exits while working on-
site.
6) Safety attitude off the job is as important as on the job.
7) This year theme relates to workplace stress and controlling hazards. According to OSHA
survey, up to 80% on the job accidents are stress related and over 50% of lost work days are
stress related.
8) Analysis shows that most accidents could be avoided if risk assessments had been properly
done. Therefore, being aware of workplace risks and knowing how to manage them is crucial to
working safely
9) You should report any safety related issue immediately to your supervisor. All such reports
must be investigated to fix up the problem.
10) Maintain your attitude of looking for unsafe conditions at site. There are so many things that
exist with us but we see only, what we want to see. ALWAYS LOOK FOR UNSAFE
CONDITIONS and report it.
11) Safety starts with you. There are simple three steps. 1) SPOT the hazard. 2) Assess the Risk
step. 3) Control the risk. Whenever unsafe condition is noticed, STOP! Take note of all the
possible hazard in your work and report it.

as ensuring that you leave home for work and return safe to your families. I need your individual
