National Arts Month , on February 28, 2023 at Santiago City National High School

The Philippines celebrate
National Arts Month every
February. This is a month-long
celebration of the arts and the
artistic excellence of our national
artists. The event is also referred to
as Ani ng Sining. To promote and
preserve Filipino arts and culture,
the event was established by
Presidential Proclamation No. 683
signed by President Corazon Aquino
in 1993. Talent and artistic ability of
SCNHS students, featured in the final
celebration of National Arts Month.
In relation to the objectives of
stimulating the excellence in artistic
expression of students in Santiago
City National High School, to
introduce unique identity and values,
to provide opportunities for further
development of skills and to produce
outputs related to art and culture,
The administration and faculty of
SCNHS successfully highlighted
the excellent output from the
student’s talent and ability in the
arts that was highlighted in the final
celebration of the National Arts
Month, on March 03, in the
function hall of the said school.
After its launch on the 13 th of
February under the leadership of
Ron Emerald L. Jacob, immediate
attention was paid to thorough
preparation of attention-seeking and
investigation of student output. On
February 28th, the stunning artworks
of students from junior high school
and senior high school were
displayed through an Art Exhibit in
the school hall. All City High
students who were given the
opportunity to see the tools molded
f rom the artistic and cultural skills
of their classmates, were informed
about the widespread
commemoration of Arts Month. On
the same day, different contests
were also held in each section of
levels 7-10. At the start of the
program, thestudents of Busilak
Dance troupe, Himig City High,
Alab ng lahi enthusiastically greeted
the audience with parents
supporting their children.
Meanwhile, instrumental sounds
were applied to the national anthem
of the Philippines from Cuerdas de
Carig, Himig City High and Aweng
City High and Aweng di Dayeng.

MAPEH as the guest of honor
expressed satisfaction from his praise
for the talent and talents of the
students at SCNHS. He also
expressed his desire to be more
careful and to be given a higher
recognition in the field of arts as one
of the schools that offers the Special
Curriculum in Arts (SPA)
This program was held for one day.
Especially always historical from
the rewards given. The following
earned awards: Grade 7 Basket
Weaving Champion- Pascal, 1St -
Aquino, 2nd -Rizal. For Grade 8
Rangoli competition floor category:
Champion- Mapagpakumbaba, 1st
Grade 8 Masipag and 2nd Grade 8
Obusan. Wall Categor: Champion-
Marangal, 1st Maparaan, 2nd
Magiting. For Grade 9 Architectural
Landmark and Festival: Champion-
Kasilag, 1st Pasteur, 2nd Archimedes.
And for Grade 10 industrial Arts:
Champion- Curie, 1st Onix, 2nd
Brocko. May Daco, Richmond
Rombaoa, Mayflor Agne, and
Misael Viray served as judges for
the selection of unique and best out-
puts. From the leadership of Randy
B. Mins, Principal II, together with
Constantino II, Head Teacher III,
with the collaboration of teachers
and coordinator s, under the
supervision of Ron L. Jacob, with
Carmelita Penteleon, Misael Viray
as proponents and with the diligent
cooperation of MAPEH and SPA
teachers, the artistic and creative
minds of the young students at City
High were colorfully and
successfully cultivated, recognized
