ORAL PRESENTATION

LEARNING OBJECTIVE:
This activity is to help you effectively research, organise and deliver a presentation to
a targeted audience using appropriate visual aids.

1. Students must work individually on this assignment.


2. You can use the speech outline prepared in Continuous Assessment 1.
3. Based on the topic you have selected, prepare and present an oral presentation to
an audience.
4. Your presentation should comfortably fill a 5 – 10-minute timeframe.
5. Choose appropriate visual aids that will work best for your presentation. You may
choose to use Microsoft PowerPoint, Prezi, or any presentation software that suits
your needs.
6. You may refer to notes or index cards during the speech; however, please be sure
to maintain eye contact with the audience.
7. You need to hand in a hardcopy of your presentation slides or any visual aids you
have used (Discuss how you should submit proof of videos with your lecturer).
8. Your Oral Presentation should consist of the elements required in the speech
outline template:
a. Introduction: Greeting, attention getter, overview of the presentation
b. Body: At least THREE main points with supporting details and examples.
c. Conclusion: summary of main points, re-statement of idea/opinion/benefits,
closer/call to action.
9. You can refer to the rubric attached for assessment criteria.
ONLINE GUIDELINES:
In the event that classes are conducted online, students should submit videos of their
presentation to their lecturer before the assignment due date.
