2. Starting times for all centres within a territory are 09:00 hr and 13:00 hr.
3. Private candidates registered for the Alternative Paper 04/2 in the French and Spanish Unit 1
and Unit 2 examinations will not be required to take a written paper but will be required to
take the oral examinations. No dates have been scheduled for the oral examinations;
however, they must be taken between 18 April – 03 May at the discretion of the Local
Registrar.
4. Art and Design: The Question Papers for Unit 1 Paper 2 and Unit 2 Paper2 are to be handed to
candidates on Friday, 21 April. The examinations must be completed during the period 15 –
26 May.
5. Once scheduled in the same session, the Alternative Paper 03/2 must be written after Paper
1.
6. Use of Dictionaries
i. The use of dictionaries is permitted for French and Spanish Paper 03 ONLY. Candidates
are allowed one text related to each theme to assist them in answering Section B of
Paper 03.
ii. N.B: Texts that are heavily annotated are not permitted in the examination room.
7. Use of Calculators
i. Candidates writing the Alternative Paper to SBA (Paper 03/2) for Law Units 1 and 2 will be
permitted to take into the examination room notes prepared on the topic of the year: -
Sources of Law in Unit 1, and Discharge of Contract in Unit 2. When responding to the
question, candidates may refer to their prepared notes.
i. The use of electronic devices and /or personal computers with earphones/headphones is
permitted in the French Units 1 and 2 Paper 01, and Spanish Units 1 and 2 Paper 01
examinations. Each candidate will have access to available electronic media for use in the
Paper 01 examination.
ii. The use of electronic devices and /or personal computers with earphones/headphones is
permitted for listening and playback in the French Units 1 and 2 Paper 01, and Spanish Units
1 and 2 Paper 01 examinations.
i. The Alternative Paper 03/2 to SBA in Biology, Chemistry and Physics is a practical examination
– laboratory facilities will be required.
a. Candidates taking the Alternate Paper 03/2 to SBA in the CAPE Sciences are
permitted to take into the exam room notebooks and/or any materials relevant to
the practical examination. When responding to the appropriate question,
candidates may refer to their prepared notes.

b. Please note the Supervisor’s Reports and Instructions for Setting up Labs should be
shared 2 weeks ahead of the examinations for candidates taking the Alternate Paper
03/2 to SBA in the CAPE Sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics).
i. The subject requires the use of a Case Study for the Paper 03/2. The Paper 03/2 Case Studies
are to be handed to private candidates on 16 May for Unit 1 and 31 May for Unit 2.
a. Candidates writing the Alternative Paper to SBA (Paper 03/2) for Applied
Mathematics Units 1 and 2 will be permitted to take into the examination room
notes prepared on the case study of the year.
b. When responding to the question, candidates may refer to their prepared notes.
14. E-Administration
i. The following represents the examinations that will be offered online ONLY as of 04 October
2022.
a. CAPE Animation and Game Design
b. Digital Media
ii. All Multiple Choice Papers (Paper 1s) will be offered electronically and /or paper-based with
the exception of Art and Design Unit 1 and Unit 2 which is paper only.
