Executive Summary

The whole world faced lockdown in home due to covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Despite of having
a bad economy during covid, there are a lot of people who found their new hobby for
themselves. It is because they had enough time to spend for their leisure. Some spent time on
books, gardening, playing games etc. There was always a demand for urban gardening but it
increased significantly during the covid lockdown. However, in 2022 the world went into their
normal life as the covid went out. So, even if some people like gardening; they lack the time to
nurture their plants. For this problem, we have introduced our new startup “Bitopi”.

Bitopi is an urban gardening startup to provide our customers the maintenance for their plants
they require or the plants they would like to buy from us. There are a lot of local competitors
as we are selling plants. But we are introducing unique service to our customers. We will offer
our customers flowering plants along with imported plants like Hoya (Wax vine), different
types of cacti, succulent, Adenium, Portulaca etc. which are not available in Bangladesh.
Moreover, we will offer the maintenance service to our customers so that they do not lose their
beloved plants.

To conduct our business, we will rent an office in Mirpur-2 as the rent fee is low there and
develop a website. We, the team Bitopi will invest 10 Lac taka in total and take loan of 8 Lac
taka loan from bank with 4% interest charge annually. So, we will invest 18 Lac Taka initially
for the business. The investment will go onto our 5 staffs we are hiring, website development,
different marketing strategies and many more. We hope we can grow our business by 2024.

This business can be profitable in long term because the cost we incur for inventory will be
lesser day by day. The reason behind is we can grow more plants by propagating it from the
mother plants. Again, we can sell a piece of cutting from the plants if the customer wants to
buy. So, the pricing can be dynamic.

In summary, this business has a huge potential to grow. As we grow, our country becomes
greener. The reason is we are selling green items to our customers. In a sense, the customers
may think of it as an environmental awareness rather than a fanciness in long term.

Introduction

Trees and plants are important part of our life. Specially in a country where everyday trees are
dying due to various reason there indoor plants are a blessing. These indoor plants will remind
us of the nature and purity to our mind. Though Indoor plants and rooftop gardening were
popular before pandemic in Dhaka city but after the covid-19 pandemic it has increased
significantly not only in Dhaka city but also the whole wide world. We can see people are
interested in buying trees, foreign plants more these days. Even though they buy plants and
everything sometime they lack proper care for these types of plants. Dhaka is a city of 20
million people where everyday toxicity in air is increasing. So, to keep forget about all these
traits about Dhaka people wanted to find something new. Indoor gardening is a hobby which
can help to calm our mind and bring the inner peace. We may spend our leisure time doing this
also. But as we said there are people who can’t take proper care or don’t know how to care this
type of trees. Sometimes these trees are so expensive that when they die it hurts like hell.

Keeping that in mind we five entrepreneurs plan to step in & introduce our solution which will
be an online website-based platform where we will sell trees also provide service that will take
care all kinds of problems related to trees. We will bring trees into the doorstep of our customer.
Also, we will provide services which will be very much premium and authentic. There will be
different types of services and products which will discussed later in this report. Our revenue
system will be both subscription based and product profit margin. In the initial stage we will
focus on only Dhaka city and later on we will focus on expanding the business. Our target
customer is young to adults. We believe having a habit of planting and caring trees will lead
everyone to better life.

Name and Address of The Business

As a startup company our initial plan was to create a catchy name which will take the customers
eye and remains in their mind for a certain period of time. Hence, we select “Bitopi” which is

a Bengali word “বিটপী”. This is a similar

meaning of “Tree” in Bengali. Company Name: Bitopi- বিটপী

Logo:

Address: Mirpur 2, Dhaka

1|Page
Nature of Business

Bitopi is a website-based planform where we will mainly sell trees and provide services for
trees. We will help to build and renovate peoples indoor with plants and other things. Currently
we five entrepreneurs and our hired five to six other employees will provide the services and
products.

Types of Business: Partnership

Types of Industry: Indoor Plants-Horticulture

Statement of Financing Method

All " Bitopi " partners will need to sign an agreement for the financial
obligation in order to prove our participation in the company. This Contract
must be executed in order for the Company to conduct Business in
Bangladesh. Bitopi, our company, will prepare the legal paperwork required
to cover all types of fees related to its operation. We will require a considerable number of
money to cover all of the expenses, which we will raise from all of our partners, banks. Our
anticipated company budget is 18 lakh BDT. One of our five partners will contribute BDT 3
lakh, for a total contribution of BDT 10 lakh. One will provide 2.5 lakh, while the other three
will each contribute 1.5 lakh. The remaining 800,000 will be obtained through bank loans.

Statement of Confidentiality of Report

The "Bitopi" business plan's reader recognizes that the material, content, and other information
it contains are confidential. As a result, the audience members consent to not disclosing any
information or material in the public domain without the owner's authorization. Any usage or
disclosure of the brand name could have negative effects. Additionally, upon request, the
owners will receive a prompt return of the organization planning paper.

Industry Analysis

Future Analysis

Indoor plants and trees are becoming a trend now. People are not buying this only for showing
off. Everybody knows about indoor plants and deep down they also want to buy, care & grow
this thing. Before the Covid-19 lockdown there were people who were enthusiasts about indoor
plant and only they would buy this plant. This market was very small according to our findings.
But during the covid-19 lockdown and the after math we find that people are more into buying
indoor plants. More than 2.2 billion plants were produced and sold in Australia in the past year
(Johnson, 2022). This is not only in Australia but in the whole world even in Bangladesh. We
see many people in Dhaka are looking for indoor plants and we see a boom of different nursery
and Facebook pages who sales these kinds of plants.

3|Page
There is a demand in the market and the trend in upward but there is a gap of meeting this
demand. So, our future plan is to meet this demand and fill the customer’s needs. We want to
expand in most of the cities with our services. Our primary target is set for capital now as we
have a limited capital however in future we will try to go into more challenging areas, introduce
the use of technology, and will try to provide products much cheaper than usual.

Analysis of Competitors

There are two competitors who are directly competing with our Bitopi and it is Sky Flora,
Chitra- Brikkha Hut. These is also a gardening startup. It sells varieties of plants and trees and
setup others garden. Their business model is similar like ours. However, we will be providing
customized ceramic pots. Our customer can customize their names or painting on the pot if
they want on the ceramic pot and we will ensure premium products.

Other competitors are doing business by selling plants and its cutting. Example: Jungle Project,
Durba, Recall Green etc.

Market Segmentation

SWOT Analysis

Strength:

➢ Dynamic pricing: In this business we can

provide plants at lowest price possible by selling
or cutting parts of the plants. For example:
Cactus.
➢ Distribution: Providing a strong distribution
channel is key of our business so that people can
easily get product from us without any hassle. For example: Uttara, Gulshan, Mirpur
etc.
➢ Variations: Our business intend to provide multiple variations in the product line up
so that customer gets whatever variation they want according to their need.

4|Page
➢ Potential high: Our business has a high profitability potential because of our minimum
expenses in equipment.
➢ Versatile: Highly versatile because of service based business and merchandising
business combination. As a result, our customer loyalty will be built and increase in the
meantime.
➢ Cost effective: We will follow a cost effective and effort minimization strategy as a
result it will facilitate ways for us to become more profitable also maximize company’s
capabilities, generate more revenues and so on.

Weakness:

➢ Extensive knowledge requirement: To maintain our business we all need extensive

knowledge about all the tree, pesticides, disease and treatment. Not everybody is good
at memorizing all this thing.
➢ Niche market: Our main target here is those people who fancy trees, plants in their
indoors. Luxurious people are the main priority and making profit from them is critical
task.
➢ Manpower: Sometimes we may have a shorthand of manpower who have extensive
knowledge about plants.
➢ Sales: There is a high chance that our sales are going to be seasonal and sometimes it’s
bad for business.
➢ Store: Our business will not have a physical store at the initial stage but a corporate
office only so that is also a disadvantage.
➢ Packaging: Our packaging cost will be higher because some of the plants/products will
be fragile.

Opportunity:

➢ Increase sales: The market is huge as a result there is a big chance of expanding and
increasing sales all over the country especially in urban cities.
➢ Market: Catching the mass market through word of mouth/better service.

Threats:

➢ Competitors: More and more competitors are coming into this industry every day and
it might be a threat for our business.

5|Page
➢ Economic Crisis: Country’s overall economic conditions may lead to decrease of sales
and shutting down our business.

PESTEL Analysis

Political:

Bangladesh currently has political stability in the environment. Riots or movements do not
occur much in recent times. The last movement occurred in 2018. This is a good sign to run
any business in a country.

Economic:

When GDP increases, people spend more money. So, demands for fancy items increase
because of the GDP increment. Moreover, the industrialization of Bangladesh is increasing
every year. If industrialization increases, employment will increase. If the employment rate
increases, more people will be busy in strict life rule. According to thefinancialexpress.com.bd
(Kamal, 2022) data, the GDP growth rate has been shown below:

GDP Growth of Bangladesh

9.00%
8.00%
7.00%
6.00%
5.00%

1.00%
0.00%
2015-16 2018-19 2019-2020 2020-2021
Fiscal Year

Both of these will be beneficial for our business. The customers will not have enough time to
put effort in maintenance of our product so we will do the service instead. Again, our sales will
increase as the GDP increases.

6|Page
Social:

Nowadays, people are more active in virtually than physically. Moreover, people do not tend
to do shopping physically due to hard and fast rules in life schedule. So, online services will
be here to play a major role for their problem. Whatever the customers want to buy, it is just
one button away from their phone.

Technological:

In 2022, internet has become cheap because of technological advancement. Bangladesh has
undergone tremendous advancement since 2010 to 2022. According to Sultana (2022), more
than 123 million people have access to the internet through mobile data-based services.
Bangladesh has 164.7 million people. So, around 75% people have access through internet.
Our business will have full advantage of it as most of the Bangladeshi people are using internet.
For this reason, we decided to run an online based store to sell plants instead of having physical
store in the initiation.

Environmental:

As our products are plants, they will cause no pollution in environment. Our products might
be wasted a lot by the customers and ourselves but no soil, surroundings will be harmed
because of our product.

Legal:

The legal aspect we would face are mainly trademark and plant patent issues in the future.
Generally, after registration we have to renew our trademark license after 10 years expiration.
We will also use plant patent if the business runs well to make a research and development for
plants.

Stakeholder’s Analysis

The process of locating, evaluating, and ranking the people who will be impacted by our
business or project is known as stakeholder analysis. It will help us to determine who we need

7|Page
to engage with and whom don’t. It will also help us to minimize the negative impact of the
company and amplify the positive impacts by resolving internal conflicts.

Some key stakeholder for our company: -

Investors

Customers

Research & Development Team

Government

Employee

Investors: Maintaining positive relations with investors is essential. You can achieve this by
valuing people and their perspectives, beginning with reasonable expectations, keeping up with
the state of the firm, and other strategies. One of the foundations for our company's growth and
success is its investor base. Because of this, we must thoroughly research and evaluate them.

Customers: It is stated that customers act as builders who help businesses grow. Therefore, it
is essential to ensure a good relationship with them. We must assess their wants and needs.
Consistent quality maintenance is necessary. The favorable comments will speed up our
business, increase our exposure, and help us expand.

Research & Development Team: One other stakeholder in our company is the research and
development group. They will be the only expert group working behind the scenes for our
company. Their main responsibility is to analyze client reviews and use that information to
improve the website's aesthetics and usability. The competence and effectiveness of R&D
teams are crucial to a company's success in our sector.

Government: Another crucial stakeholder for any firm is the government, which has
significant influence but little personal investment. Different laws and norms for conducting
business must be upheld, which has a direct impact on our business. Any change in government
policy could have a negative impact on our company's operations.

Employees: The effectiveness of the employees should also be taken into account before
hiring. Since they are also company stakeholders, we must make sure they are hired after
thorough evaluation. We will favor candidates with ambition and sufficient practical technical
skills.

8|Page
Porter’s Five Forces

Threats of New Entrants: Since it is a new business, it has potential for growth, and the rules
and legal processes governing this kind of enterprises are similarly flexible. A strong threat of
new competitors exists in addition to all of this. These kinds of initiatives are also being taken
by local nurseries and others to increase their sales.

Bargaining power of suppliers: The intermediary system will serve as the sole foundation of
our business. We are basically acting as the gateway between the buyer and the provider. Most
of the products are either bulk-imported from abroad or are cheaply procured through our
vendors. Therefore, their influence might be characterized as moderate in terms of suppliers.

Bargaining power of buyers:

There are currently no viable alternatives to the market that we intend to serve with our service.
The lack of current competitors for our type of service means that customers have little
negotiating leverage if they want a service that performs the same function.

Threats of Substitute:

There aren't many services on the market that meet the requirements of the intended consumer.
This is why there is currently little risk of a substitute.

9|Page
Rivalry among existing competitors: There are many plant-based business currently
operating in the market but for this specific type where we are providing extra care and services
for the plant is new. So, the competitions are heavy but the company needs to hold tight as the
market is huge and demands are increasing.

Packaging Plan

Packaging & Manufacturing

As we have a business which serves both with product and service, we need to maintain proper
packaging and manufacturing. Packaging is not an easy task when specially it is in a dynamic
size or precisely a plant. We need to cautious about packaging, labeling it as fragile and ship it
to its rightful owner.

There will be two types of packaging at first that we will be used. One type is cardboard
packaging and another type is hardboard packaging. For the customers who will order online
and for example the tree is a Bonsai we will use a Hardboard packaging. But for other small
plants like Cactus, Succulents etc. we will use Cardboard packaging. This way it will be more
cost effective and handy for us to operate.

And for manufacturing part we don’t have that much. Our initial plan is to buy different types
of plants and grow them so that they can be mother plants. After that we will use propagation
strategy for the breeds which are capable. And for the types which we can’t propagate we will
find a way to either import or buy them at a bulk. That is what our manufacturing strategy.

Company Description

Bitopi is a firsthand tech enabled platform for kinds of commodities needed for urban
gardening. From plants to seeds, Gardening kits to monthly maintenance services, we have it
all to make gardening easier than ever. With the help of utilizing latest technology and digital
channels, we aim to make the experience of urban gardening convenient and hassle-free. One
just has to choose any plant or gardening kit in our website or page and we will directly deliver
it to the doorsteps of the customer. We also set up garden for those who have interest for
gardening but don’t have time for the maintenance. Our ultimate goal is to make urban
gardening more convenient and always deliver our best service to our customers.

Day to Day Operations

i) Marketing operations: Our marketing operations will always be active because we are
trying to disrupt the market using modern technology and all digital channels. So, the marketing
operation needs to be rigorous. Even if we don’t have that much higher budget for digital
campaigns still, we would be engaging our consumers by using content marketing and blog
posts which have no extra cost.

24 | P a g e
ii) Maintaining Facebooks page and Website: Though our main target and selling platform
would be our website, still we would need to maintain our Facebook page as well. Our day to
operations will include posts from Facebook page on a regular basis. With those posts, we will
try to educate our consumers about the necessity of urban gardening and how we are trying to
make the whole experience smooth.

Our website would be our main platform for operations because a decent amount of traffic
would open the door for Ad and affiliate revenue for us. Also, website would be easier to use
for our consumers. So, our day-to-day operations will include maintaining website as well.

iii) Delivery service: A key operation of our business is the delivery service. As we will be
selling plants and gardening kits, we would deliver them directly to our customers doorsteps.
For now, we would be partnering with local delivery services where the cost would be lower
than partnering with big names in the field. The delivery service would always be active during
our operations time. Anyone can order from our website and will receive the product within 48
hours from ordering time. So, the delivery section will always be active.

iv) Supply and distribution: As we would be directly buying plants and kits from our
suppliers, the channel needs to be active and strong. We initially plan to buy products from our
suppliers at the start of the month and the order quantity would gradually increase over time.
So, it is necessary to contact our suppliers every day to let them know the requirements and
payments as well. So, it would be also a key part of our day-to-day operations.

v) Customer Service and Hotline: Customer engagement is crucial to the success of our
company since it will both assist us draw in new customers who will want to use our services
and re-engage current ones. Our customer service management looks into the problem that the
consumers are experiencing and offers help as needed. Additionally, our customer service team
assists potential customers in making decisions and responds to any inquiries they may have
about our service. Our staff examines the data of our business in greater detail, assesses any
potential problems during upcoming operations, and then takes the necessary action to address

25 | P a g e
such problems. To provide customers with high-quality services, this action is regularly
performed.

Flow of Services

As we have mentioned earlier that the website will be our main key selling platform, one just
has to go to our website and directly order their desired plant or service. We will be focusing
more on UI and UX designing of the side to make the experience very aesthetic for the
customers. User interface is very important in today’s world. With eye catching visuals and
minimalist website, we shall try to convert our visitors into our daily customers. Also, those
who don’t want to go to site, they can directly order from our Facebook page as well. The
desired product will be delivered to them within 48 hours. Along with plants, we have different
kinds of subscription model which a customer can easily choose by using our website. Our
operational flow directly starts from a consumer visiting our website.

Ordering and reordering: To order from us, one has to go to our website and Facebook page.
After entering the website, the customers will see a section named plans and kits. That section
will contain different types of plants and gardening kits that we offer. After selecting the desired
product, it will be added on cart. When they are done selecting, they will be taken to the
checkout page. In the checkout page, they will be given two options named cash on delivery
or direct payment. After selecting their desired medium, their order will be confirmed and they
will be given points which they can avail for a discount from the next purchase. From our end,
after receiving the order, we will confirm if the product is available or not. The product will
directly be delivered to their doorsteps after 48 hours of ordering.

Subscription model: As our business have a lot of scope to pivot, we already made a monthly
based subscription model for those consumers who wants to do gardening but don’t have
sufficient knowledge and time for that. We will be doing that thing for them. The customers
just only have to go to our website and see our subscription planning and choose any of them.
After that, our employees will go to their house with all the necessary plants and equipment
needed for their urban gardening and they will set up the garden for them. Also, our employees
will do maintenance in every two weeks to check if all the plants are safe or not. By using this
model, all of their hassles regarding urban gardening will be vanished within a blink of an eye.

26 | P a g e
Technology Utilization

In today’s world, a business without technology means missing out a whole lot of opportunities
to generate more revenue. The thing that separates us from our competitors is we are using
latest technology and all the digital channels to make the whole process very simple and time
saving as well. As we have just started our business and it’s still in the early stage, It’s difficult
to use advanced technology during this time. But we have already adapted to some latest
technologies which will give the business a boost for sure.

We have partnered up with a Bangladeshi payment gateway company named

“SSLCOMMERZ” to make the whole transaction process for us and the customers very easy
and risk-free. The reason why we have connected with them because they are really reliable
and cost much less than other international payment gateway companies. This ensures our
utilization of latest technology despite of being a new startup. As the time passes, we will be
introducing more latest technologies to our business and make the whole experience even more
smooth.

Marketing Plan

Segmentation and Targeting and Positioning

We have divided our target group into 3 categories – Primary target group, Secondary target
group, Tertiary target group. As our target market is huge so our target groups are also huge.

Primary Target Group: People from 18-25 (Age) fall into this group. Their social media
activity and engagement is higher and their purchase behavior is frequent. They are basically
teenagers who have more interest in our product.

Secondary Target Group: Our secondary target group consists people who are 26-30 who are
basically adults whose social activity is moderate and purchase behavior is average. We are
more likely going to target then to take our monthly services because people of this age don’t
get enough timing for gardening.

Tertiary Target Group: People from 30-40 (age) are people whose social media activity is
low and they purchase once in a while. That is why they fall under this category.

28 | P a g e
Positioning: As we have a diverse target audience and potential consumers, we can’t position
our product with a fixed strategy. We have divided the positioning strategies into five parts for
our different target market and audience. These are – Trait Positioning, Perks positioning,
Lifestyle Positioning, Product user positioning, Competitor positioning, Quality and price
positioning and lifestyle positioning.

29 | P a g e
Trait and Perk Positioning: This is to show the consumers basically what is our product and
why urban gardening is needed in every household. We will be educating the consumers
through this strategy so that we can turn them into our customers. We will also show them the
benefits of indoor plants and it’s tangible and intangible values as well.

Competitor positioning: The market size of the industry is huge and there are a lot of
unbranded competitors in the market. We have always tried from the beginning to be different
from our competitors. Most of our competitors are not using all the digital marketing channels
to promote their product. We will take full advantage for that gap and place our product in the
market

Product user positioning: Customer review is very important for a new business. We always
try to take customer complains seriously. We don’t have mention worthy negative customer
reviews. Most of our customers are very happy to use our product and services. We will try to
take the feedback of our customers to showcase our product user experience and review to
position our product.

Lifestyle Positioning: In the modern era, most successful companies have always tried to
connect the product with user’s lifestyle. We would be doing that too. We would make our
consumers understand what are the personal and social values will our products create and how
it will improve their lifestyle also.

Quality and Price Positioning: If the quality of a product is good then it’s very easy to sell
with proper marketing because customers always want quality products. Where most of our
competitors only deliver plants, we will be delivering plants with nice packaging at an
affordable price. This will always keep us ahead of our competitors

30 | P a g e
Marketing Mix

Product: Our product is basically catered to bring green revolution in our country and world
also. We have more than 100 types of plants best for urban gardening along with perfect
gardening kits. We also have services for those who don’t get enough time for gardening. The
main problem of this industry is it’s still not utilizing all the digital marketing channels
properly. Earlier one has to go to the nurseries to buy plants. This causes as lot of hassle. This
is the problem our product is trying to solve. To buy our product, one just has to place an order
and the desired product will be delivered to the customer’s house.

a wide range of plants and 3 service packages as well, each of the service package includes
two-time maintenance in a month. For big corporations, we have corporate package as well
because the demands are increasing for green workplace for a longer period of time.

Place / Distribution

The main selling platform of our product will be our website. This will ensure affiliate revenue
and ad revenue in the future if we manage to get a good amount of traffic in the website.
However, for the convenience of the customers we are active in social media as well. One can
directly order from us from our website or Facebook page as well. These two are the main

32 | P a g e
platforms of our business. Also, if our business grows in upcoming month, we will be hiring
an office as well. For monthly services, the customer has to choose service package and we
will be visiting them twice a month for setting up and post maintenance.

Promotion

As a startup, we are always trying to disrupt the market. For that we need proper promotional
campaigns. For different phases we have different campaigns designed. As a comparatively
new venture, we will need to market our product and sell it through various marketing channels.
We will mostly use BTL marketing mostly for our product because the audience that we are
seeking are mostly present on digital media. Also, ATL requires a huge sum of money and also
the target audience are different as well. We have done extensive audience and market research
and made a marketing funnel for our promotional activities.

Here we can see different stages of a consumer behavior. We will be setting up campaigns to
convert a normal consumer into our loyal customers. We will be using social media marketing,

33 | P a g e
SEO, Search engine marketing, Blogging and influencer marketing for our promotional
activities.
.
Social Media Marketing: A brand’s first online presence is unveiled in a social media site.
To be more precise, It’s a Facebook page. Social media marketing has rapidly grown over the
past couple of years. It’s almost impossible for any startup to survive in today’s competitive
market without utilizing all the digital channels properly. Our one of the main selling platforms
is our Facebook page. So, we have always paid attention to this site with utmost care always.
We always divide our campaign with three phases. Awareness phase, Traffic Phase and
conversion phase. We will be doing three types of campaign for the next one year. The
campaigns are described below-

Awareness Campaign:

34 | P a g e
We will be running awareness campaigns for the phase of Facebook advertising. We will be
trying to educate our potential customers about our product and the benefits of urban gardening
also. We will be targeting keywords like “Gardening, houseplant, plant etc.” so that it can reach
the right audience. We will be showing different awareness posts and showcase our product
and service also.

35 | P a g e
Traffic Campaign:

36 | P a g e
After we are done with our awareness phase, we will be trying traffic campaign to encourage
them to visit our websites to know a little bit more about our product. We will be using all our
digital channels to run this ad because we want everyone to visit our website. Traffic campaign
is a great option to get a good amount of traffic into our website. This increases a chance to get
affiliate and ad ad revenue as well.

37 | P a g e
Conversion Campaign:

38 | P a g e
The conversion campaign is the most important campaign of our Facebook Advertising. All of
the previous campaign will be catered to lead our audience to convert into customers. In the
conversion campaign, we will be targeting our website traffic which we got from traffic
campaign in the previous phase.

39 | P a g e
Sample Creatives:

40 | P a g e
Search Engine Marketing:

Google is most effective and popular way of Search Engine Marketing. Most people use google
as their primary search engine site. We will be running google PPC campaign for getting traffic
from google. Though we will be focusing on SEO for organic traffic, still SEO can take a long
time to rank websites. Meanwhile we will be running PPC campaign on google to maintain the
flow of traffic to our website.

41 | P a g e
Search Engine Optimization (SEO): SEO is the oldest and most effective way to rank the
website higher in google. Most businesses neglect SEO because they think google ads are
enough. But SEO is free of cost and has a better chance to rank website without any money
and bring organic traffic also. So, we will be focusing more on SEO than google words. We
will be doing SEO of our site using different tools like google trends, SEMrush, Screaming
frog and keyword surfer. We have done extensive keyword research for our SEO. We will be
using long tail keywords instead of short tail keywords because Short Tail Keywords have a
higher search volume and difficult to rank. So long tail keywords will be easier to rank. We
will also be getting backlinks from renowned websites where they will be promoting our
website in their blogs or posts. That’s how we have planned to do SEO for our site.

42 | P a g e
43 | P a g e
Blogging: Though in recent times Vlogging are in control, still blogging is one of the easiest
and most effective ways to get exposure for a new brand. Our website has a different section
named “blog” sections. We will regularly be publishing different blogs and awareness posts
where we will showcase the consumer how they can take care of their plants or what are the
best indoor plants from them. This would increase engagement also if our blog posts are ranked,

44 | P a g e
we will be affiliating with other sites to promote their product also. But for now our primary
focus is to publish blog to ensure maximum engagements from our potential customers.

Influencer Marketing: Social media have unlocked a new channel for marketing in the past
couple of years which is called influencer marketing. This technique has been successful from
the very beginning and is also very active. Influencer marketing for our business is a very
important aspect because influencers have a big impact in Bangladeshi consumers. For this
channel we will be collaborating with “Hype Scout” which is an influencer hiring platform and
a local startup as well. We will pay them a monthly fee and they will be hiring influencers for
us and we will be able to focus on other channels also.

45 | P a g e
Hashtag challenge-

46 | P a g e
To ensure maximum engagement and traffic, we will monthly arrange Hashtag challenges for
our target customers. To avail this, they will just have to share our Facebook post and mention
their 5 friends in their comment box. Winners will be chosen randomly and will be sent exciting
gift hampers and plants also.

In every business, measuring the success of any campaign is as important as running the
campaign. At the end of the day only results matter. If after any campaign, the results are not
measured or analyzed, there is a high chance that the next campaign will not improve.
Campaign analysis is very important as it clearly shows the result of what elements of the
campaign worked or did not work. As we will be focusing our promotional activities more on
digital channels, we need to always measure our campaign after every campaign. There are
many great tools by which we can measure our campaign success. As we will be running
Facebook Ads campaign and google ad campaign, we will be using Google Analytics and
Facebook Ad analytics report to measure the success of our campaign. These are great tools
and also cost effective as well.

Organizational Plan

Form of Ownership

‘Bitopi’ is a partnership company of five individuals. Before starting the business, every single
member agreed to invest an equal amount in the business and will have an equal portion of this
business. But the CEO and the CFO will supply the site for opening the physical store of Bitopi.
That’s why, the CEO will get 30% of shares and the CFO will get 25% of the shares. The rest
of the members will be sharing an equal number of shares which is 15%. According to The
Partnership Act of 1932, the CEO and CFO will receive a 30% and 25% share of the profits
and losses respectively, with the same equity percentage of 30% and 25% & the rest of the
members will be receiving 15% of profits and losses. Each member is responsible for their own
debts and liabilities. All the members will have the equal rights in any sort of future planning
of growth and managing the business. It's a limited liability partnership (LLP) business. Being
a part of a partnership company requires that every member put forth the same level of effort
and collaborate on the common goal of success. They have both the right to vote and the power
to make decisions. To prevent internal disputes, the partners will sign a partnership agreement
outlining all policies and procedures.

Identification of Partners or Principal Shareholders

Every member will share profit generated from the business as per the owner’s equity. Since
it’s a limited liability business, all the partners will not be held accountable for any sort of
damages caused by any of their fellow partners.

The distribution of profits and shares among the partners is given below:

Name Designation Percentages of shares and

profit distribution
Fariha Kabir Esha CEO 30%
Md. Ashraf Hossain CFO 25%
Sadman-al-Islam Abeg CMO 15%
Fabiha Zabeen Neha COO 15%
Md Mahedi Hasan Ratul HRM & CTO 15%

49 | P a g e
Authority of Principals
● Each member will be affected by the combination of monetary transactions and legal
matters.

● Every partner should be impacted by the combination of financial transactions and

legal issues.

● We had intended to keep a specific amount of profit for ourselves during the first few
years. However, because each partner will be in charge of a different department, their
payment will be determined by their working hours and duties.

● Despite the fact that it is an online business, we will still rent a space to conduct all of
our operations

Assessment of Risk
Challenges

Every industry comes up with new challenges and barriers every day. Our business has
challenges as well. Even though we will be focusing heavily on marketing to educate our
consumers, there are other challenges that needs to be eliminated though other ways. First of
all, the key challenge from our end will be managing the people who will be working on the
ground level. We will need to educate them how to take care of the plants. For these challenges,
we will be hiring the right people for the business and arrange monthly training also. With
these, we hope to encounter those challenges.

53 | P a g e
Contingency Plan

Every business needs a plan B. Though we will be rigorously trying to make our short term
and long-term goals successful, still there might arise some situation that might force u too
pivot and improvise. We are ready for those challenges also. Our contingency plan contains-

• As our business is heavily focused on B2C, educating them would be a big problem.
People still consider plant as a lifestyle product rather than a necessary product. So, it
might take a longer period of time to convert them. For that period, we would be
focusing more on B2C companies. Corporate companies, Gov’t offices need plants and
services also. We would focus more on B2B if our awareness phase takes longer period.

• Our short-term goal is to be an e-commerce platform for everything that needs for urban
gardening. But if our targets don’t match with our results, we would try to pivot. We

54 | P a g e
would create a marketplace for all the plant sellers and maintenance service providers
who would use our platform to sell their product. We would basically try to bring every
plant seller under the same platform.

• We have already stated that we would make an ad funnel to ensure maximum output
for our upcoming campaign. But if that doesn’t live up to the mark, we would gradually
start doing traditional ATL marketing also. This would fill up the gaps created during
BTL marketing.

Financial Plan

Sales Budget

Assumptions:
1. We have assumed that we started our product sales with 90 units from January.
2. As we will be incurring expense for marketing from January to May and July. There
is a steep rise in sales of our products and service.

55 | P a g e
Assumptions:
1. The Sales unit growth increases by 10% every year.
2. We assumed to keep 20% of the inventory.

Operating Cost

Assumptions:
1. We will have 5 staffs for our business. Everyone will be compensated with 26,000
BDT every month.
2. The Delivery Expense has been calculated in a manner that every delivery required 60
BDT expense for Bitopi.
3. The Design expense includes customized vases expense to design.

56 | P a g e
Pro Forma Income Statement

Assumptions:
1. The Service Revenue between June to September have been lower because of rain.
People do not tend to take services in rainy days. Besides, even a business faces
difficulty to meet requirements in time during rainy days in Dhaka.
2. The Website Development will be a one-time cost for us.

57 | P a g e
Assumptions:
1. In 2022, the loss will be huge due to website development and low sales.
2. In 2023, the losses will litigate. But the interest expense will be added because
Bitopi took a loan of 800,000 BDT in 2022 and they cannot pay the principle
till 2027 or 2028.
3. Salary & Wages Increment 3% per year.

58 | P a g e
Pro Forma Balance Sheet

Assumptions:
1. In 2022, Bitopi had total 18 Lac BDT. However, due to cash burn nearly 5 Lac 60
thousand in December the total asset stood on 12 Lac 40 thousand BDT valuation.
The cash burn will continue till 2023.
2. According to Bangladesh rule, no banks are not allowed to charge more than 4%
annually interest (Express, 2022).

59 | P a g e
Break Even Analysis

Assumptions:
1. As we are serving products and packages both, the break-even point has to be calculated
in sales mix method. In our assumption from sales budget 2022, we will sell 100 units
of products when we sell 10 units of our service package. That Means Products: Service
= 100:10.
2. Break Even Point in Unit= Fixed Cost/ Weighted Contribution Margin

60 | P a g e
3. Break Even Sales in Unit= Break Even Point in Unit*(100/ (100+10)) for Product and
(10/110) for Service Packages.
Contribution Margin of Product or Service
4. Weighted Average Contribution Margin Ratio=
(Selling Price of Product*10) +
(Selling Price of Service*1)

5. Total Break-Even Sale= Fixed Cost/ Weighted Average Contribution Margin.

Selling Price* Proportionate Unit (1 for Service 10 for Product)

* Total Break-Even
6. Break Even Sale= Sale
(Selling Price of Product*10) + (Selling Price of Service*1)

7. The variable costs of a product and Fixed Expenses are showed.
