MOUNTAINS
BASIC INFORMATIONS
Tatry mountains are located in
Poland (22%) and Slovakia
(78%). The highest peak of
Polish part is Rysy – it’s 2503
metres high. Other famous
peaks are:
• Giewont – 1895 m.a.s.l
• Kasprowy Wierch – 1987
m.a.s.l
ANIMALS & PLANTS
In Tatry mountains there are
some interesting plants, like
edelweiss or alpine violet.
These mountains are also home
for many animal species, for
example brown bears, wolves,
eagles, snakes, lizards,
marmots or goats.
TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
The biggest atraction of Tatry
mountains are spectacular views and
walking on mountains. You can also
visit Eye of the Sea – a beautiful
lake in a valley. In winter there are
a lot of ski slopes. Tatry mountains
are undoubtedly the most popular
and magnificance Polish mountains.
