BSHM 3A Business Marketing

1. Make a research and narrative report about marketing strategies the fast food establishment
like Mang Inasal, Mc Donalds, Jollibee, Chowking and etc used to run their business.

Narrative Report

Based on my research, there are best fast-food marketing strategies. One of these is offer meal
bundles and combos. A classic burger and fries combo, topped with a soda and/or a dessert, will boost
their sales in no time. Place a special price on meal bundles, combos, and family menus to motivate
customers to choose them over individual menu items. They will sell more, and customers will get more
value for their money. Another one is create a kids’ menu. This will make kids excited to visit their
restaurant, and parents can breathe a sigh of relief knowing they can pay less for a healthier meal option
for their kids. Third is offer collectibles with the purchase of a kids’ menu. When marketing your fast
food, it’s vital to cater to your target audience. If many families with kids visit your restaurants, then it
might be worth investing in some freebies for the children. Next is allow customers to scan a QR code to
browse the menu and order. Contactless ordering for dine-in comes with many benefits, from allowing
customers to place an order and pay for it without waiting in line and interacting with a cashier to faster
table turnover for you. Another strategy is Create a branded app so customers can order food online.
This will help a restaurant distinguish themselves from other restaurants that don’t offer mobile
ordering. Additionally, it’s a superior alternative to listing their restaurant on third-party delivery apps
and paying their high costs. Another one is Capitalize on fast food-related holidays with unique
promotions. From National Fast-Food Day to National Burgers Day or National French Fries Day, there
are plenty of unofficial food holidays for them to celebrate. How? By providing discounts and special
promotions on the products in question. Next is Limit your menu to one page. When creating the fast-
food marketing plan, they consider focusing on popular dishes they know they do well and customers
love. This will help them minimize kitchen disruptions and simplify the ordering process for their hungry
customers. Another one is Use pops of color to entice customers to order more. Because it makes
customers feel hungrier, encouraging them to order more and eat faster, which means they’ll get to
serve more customers daily. Another is Do upselling and cross-selling. Encourage customers to order
more by allowing them to customize their meals with add-ons, toppings, sides, drinks, and desserts.
Next is Create a loyalty program. One of the long-term fast-food marketing strategies, consider creating
a loyalty program to reward customers who’ve been with the restaurant for a while and attract new
ones to the restaurant with the promise of regular promotions and special offers. These are the
marketing strategies that fast food restaurants used to run their business and as I can see, these
strategies are undeniably effective.

2. Define Market Segmentation, targeting, and product positioning.

 Market segmentation is the practice of dividing a target market into smaller groups that have
similar characteristics, such as age, income, personality traits, behavior, interests, demands, or
location. These divisions can be utilized to optimize products, marketing, advertising, and sales
efforts.
 Targeting in marketing is segmenting the target audience and then planning marketing actions
to reach the segments most likely to respond to your efforts. Target marketing can considerably
improve your chances of reaching out to potential clients.
 Product positioning is a type of marketing in which the benefits of your product are presented to
a specific target audience. Market research and focus groups can help marketers determine
which audience to target based on positive product responses. A good positioning makes a
product unique and makes the users consider using it as a distinct benefit to them.
