TASK 2: Hero or not?

Jose Rizal fought for freedom by using the power of his pen to awaken the Filipino
people's nationalism at the time, creating a quiet but powerful alternative to the use of force
and violence. It is not just in force and violence we can get what we want. As him as an
example, it can be seen that through writing, it can have a great impact in everyone's mind
and lead to influencing their beliefs, their courage to stand and fought for our freedom
against our enemy. His works of imagination and creativity served as a wake-up call to
Philippine nationalism. He wrote novels, essays, poems, allegories, and even editorials for
the Spanish newspaper La Solidaridad, where the majority of his writings focused on
individual rights and freedom. In other words, for his intellectual and idealistic support for
Philippine independence, Rizal is regarded as the father of "Philippine Nationalism."

I believe he is deserving of the title of national hero. A National Hero is someone who
has made significant contributions to society's freedom, growth, and development, and who
represents all of us. It is a life sacrifice, a great act of bravery, and a yearning love for his
country. Indeed, many were qualified for these heroic qualities, and as a result, many fought
for the title. Needless to say, Rizal, unlike any other hero, did not bear arms or lead an army
but rather in an academic way seeking a peaceful and logical solution for Filipino
independence from colonial rule over the political and social aspects of life in the
Philippines. With this, no others' people blood is spilled in our country land with the way he
fought for our freedom beside his. No blood in his hand that leads to death of our
countrymen. It's his influence what our enemies feared and why he died and the reason why
he is deserving to be our national hero.
