History of Electronic Dance Music

Various electrical music subgenres geared at performers are combined to create

electronic dancing music. House music, drum and bass, traps, trance songs, synthpop, disco

music, dubstep, and hardstyle are some of the genres of music. Musicologists believe that

melodies have evolved throughout time, despite their argument that it is hard to classify them as

EDM at the same time due to the subgenres and broad range of categories. Some industry

professionals contend that the evolution of EDM and its subgenres has been influenced by and

modified the forward-thinking yet traditional dance culture. Research suggests that EDM musical

knowledge now is unique from electronic dance music from the 1970s through the early 2000s

(Franc 3). Whenever the various subgenres of dance music were created separately as dance

music, a clear advancement of this category and innovation in music emerged during each of

those corresponding decades.
