ACTIVITY TITLE: Essay #9
REALIZATION, INSIGHT AND LEARNINGS
What are the significant traits of an effective community organizer? How do you see yourself as a
community organizer or part of the community organizing initiative of the University?
Student’s Answer:

A community organizer plays a crucial role in improving the lives of individuals within a community. They
work to gather and distribute data that is necessary for the management of specific activities. These
activities can include plans of action, strategies, exercises in organizational growth and capacity building,
and ways for managing resources. Actionable information such as strategy and plans are key components
of a community organizer's role.

An example of community organization is when employees who are physically near one another form a
group and interact socially. To be an effective community organizer, it is beneficial to possess a wide range
of skills and traits. It is important for there to be a person in control of the team who can be contacted at
any time, and their suggestions should be implemented as soon as possible. A leader in a community
should be skilled in many areas and should always keep in mind what is best for the people they are
responsible for. To maximize the group's potential while reducing its shortcomings, a community leader
may assess the members' abilities and constraints.

As a future goal, I plan to participate in my school's community organizing program, where I am confident
that I will be able to make a positive impact. Since we often begin planning these projects around the
middle of junior year in high school, it makes sense to undertake community service as part of a
completion project currently. Participating in community organizing will also help me improve my
communication skills and my ability to empathize with others. As a helper, it is my responsibility to tailor
my assistance to the specific requirements of the person I am assisting and to make their experience with
our service as positive as possible. Giving them access to the information we have is one of the most
crucial things we can do for them.
