Part -5 OPMT 620

1. Identify your aggregate plan for following period for your products.

In order to produce an aggregate plan for the subsequent period, the textile company needs to
take into consideration the demand projection for T-shirts and pants, the production capacity,
the inventory levels, and any constraints such as the availability of labour and the supply of
materials. All of these factors are related to the aggregate plan. Let's imagine that the demand
estimate for T-shirts is anticipated to be 10,000 units over the course of the subsequent three
months, and that the demand projection for pants is anticipated to be 5,000 units over the same
time period. Because of the strong capabilities of the company's manufacturing division, the
monthly output of the company's T-shirts and pants combined can exceed 15,000 units. Because
of this information, the company is now in a position to design strategies, such as linear
programming or simulation, in order to determine the manufacturing strategy that will result in
the greatest amount of success. This plan ought to bring about a reduction in total expenditures
while at the same time meeting the requirements of the customers.

2. Create the MPS and corresponding BOMs of your products.

After the aggregate plan has been produced, the company will be able to develop a master
production schedule (MPS) as well as a bill of materials (BOM) for the T-shirts and pants. The
BOM lists the raw materials, components, and subassemblies that are required for each
product, whereas the MPS provides information regarding the quantity of each product that is
to be produced throughout each week of the future period. For example, the MPS may state
that 3,000 T-shirts and 1,500 pairs of trousers need to be manufactured in the first week,
whereas the BOM for T-shirts may list the fabric, thread, and label as the raw materials, and the
cutting, sewing, and finishing as the manufacturing operations. Additionally, the MPS can specify
that a total of three thousand T-shirts need to be produced in the first week of production for
the company.

3. Schedule the first week of Following period based on your MPS. Explain your method and
strategy.

To be able to arrange the first week of the subsequent period based on the MPS, the organisation must
determine the exact activities required to produce the given quantity of T-shirts and pants. Creating a
production plan, making an order for raw materials, planning the work schedules of employees, and
maintaining open lines of contact with suppliers are all potential steps that may be required. The
production schedule can be represented visually using a Gantt chart as shown below. This enables the
identification of potential production process bottlenecks and crucial pathways. The organisation may
also elect to implement lean manufacturing principles in order to streamline the production process and
reduce the amount of waste generated. For example, the corporation may use a just-in-time inventory
system to reduce the costs associated with keeping goods while also increasing the company's overall
efficiency. In addition, the business is able to monitor the actual production process and make the
required adjustments to the plan in order to fulfil the order on time and within the stated budgetary
limitations.
