It's my great privilege to welcome you all to the much awaited


60th Annual National Conference of AIOTA-OTICON
2023.Conducted by saveetha College of Occupational therapy,
[simats] Saveetha Institute of medical and technical sciences,
Chennai.
For the past two years, due to novel virus covid-19, OTICON
was conducted in online mode, now the time has come to have
it in a face-to-face mode at our very own Saveetha College of
Occupational therapy.

It was a tough time for all of us but as they say there is always
light at the end of the tunnel, I am more than happy to have
you all come here to make this a reality.

Which means although a man be without learn, let him listen


to the teaching of experts who had learned, that will help him
in times of need.

We have with us some of the best experts to share their


knowledge and expertise on the theme "MULTI-
DISCIPLINARY TO INTER-DISCIPLINARY-
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY PRACTISE " especially from
a clinical point of view.

We also have a complete three days filled with versatile


cultural programs including Performances by various
colleges.
On the whole it is going to be a fun filled package for all of us.
We would like to start the program by requesting all of you to
rise for The Tamil Thai vazhthu.

They say it is good to start anything by seeking blessings of


the lord almighty .so, I invite our students to start the
program with a welcome dance.

I feel extremely honored to welcome our guest of honor
Thirumathi Jacintha Lazarus IAS;Commissioner for welfare
of the differently abled,who took her IAS training from
Manipur(batch of 2005)by securing an all India rank of 27,is
now the Director and Commissioner of the welfare of the
differently abled. She is presently on inter cadre deputation
from Manipur to Tamil Nadu cadre and has been given
extension in Inter cadre Deputation for period of three years
by the Government of India.
Thirumathi Jacintha Lazarus is currently associated with 5
Companies and is director with Repco Home Finance
Limited, The Tamilnadu Tea Plantation Corporation
Limited, Arasu Rubber Corporation Limited, Overseas
Manpower Corporation Limited and also is a Nominee
Director with Tamilnadu Textile Corporation Limited.
Now I request Mrs Jacintha Lazarus ma'am to address the
gathering......

I feel extremely honored to welcome our chief


guest:Dr.Ananda kumar IAS; secretary to state, Department
for the welfare of differently Abled persons who by profession
is a vertinary surgeon.
He completed his schooling in Vadambachery and secured
school first in 10th and 12th standards. He then completed his
Bachelors on veterinary sciences with 8.6 CGPA grade from
Veterinary college and Research institute( VCRI) Namakkal
(batch of 1993-2007). He then went on to do his masters in
Poultry Science at central Asian research institute-IVRI from
2000-2005. He has also completed M.B.L From National law
school, Bangalore and an MA English degree from the
university of madras. He has won 5 gold medals during his
undergraduate program and has authored 10 books so far.
Now I request him to address the gathering......

On behalf of the management, I thank him for providing his


gracious presence to join us today to enhance our joy.

The theme of OTICON 2023 is "MULTI-DISCIPLINARY


TO INTER-DISCIPLINARY RESEARCH, For an Effective
and efficient service for the individual, it is important that the
health care team work together towards goals agreed with the
patient. The greater the communication and interaction
between researchers coming from different disciplines, the
more the research effort will shift towards interdisciplinary.
While multidisciplinary research can help in solving complex
problems, it is interdisciplinary research that can lead to
creative expansion of the frontiers of scientific ideas.

several dimensions of Occupational therapy by some of
the best in the field .If time is money then today you have
spent millions for us .Thankyou all.

Thank you is a form of prayer that is cannot be seen or


touched; it must be felt by heart.

I, Punitha, Assistant professor at Saveetha college of


occupational therapy would like to express my deepest
gratitude towards all of you who sincerely contributed to this
event in order to make it a successful one.
An event of this dimension cannot happen overnight .The
wheels started rolling months in advance.
The support of each and every one present here is the sole
reason for the success.
