Wall of Honor and just
like that simple gesture
of offering to help di-
rect traffic years ago,
whether lending a hand
to a friend or assisting
the community at large,
service to others has
long been a part of what
Dan True is really all
about.
His Wall of Honor
plaque lists a number
of Boards he has served
on and many of the
programs he has been
involved with over the
years, including the
Hughes Senior Citizens
C e n t e r, t h e L e b a n o n
Chamber of Commerce,
the Laclede County Li-
brary, the First Unit-
ed Methodist Church,
Central Bank and serv-
ing as a Lebanon City
Councilman.
In January 2020, Dan
a n d J o a n Tru e m a d e
the decision to down-
size completely and
moved into Cedarhurst
as soon as the new facil-
ity opened.
“We moved right the
middle of the pandemic
so that has made every-
thing more difficult for
everyone. Of course, it
is different but basical-
ly, we like it,” Joan ex-
plained.  “It’s been an
adjustment getting rid
of so many things but
we thought this would
be easier for our family
and everyone, to do it
all now while we still
could.”

and Thomas Rhett. The
Charity Bash is known
for its great desserts,
this year ’s being local
Ice Cream Factory ice
cream.
The event’s auction
items were also Missou-
ri themed, including
a party for 20 during
a game in a St. Louis
Cardinals’ suite, a Miz-
zou sports package and
other items.
“It takes a village
to make a large event
like this take place. So
I would be remiss if I
didn’t acknowledge the
Mercyhealth Founda-
tion Board of Directors
as well as of all the
volunteers that have
helped make tonight’s

The Lebanon-La-
clede County Library
is inviting community
businesses, clubs and
organizations to take
part in its Festival of
Trees this Christmas
season.
Each month the li-
brary sees 12,000-14,000
patrons.
For an entry fee of
$50, organizations can
advertise their business
or raise awareness of a
cause, show support for
the library in a contest
for the People’s Choice
Award.
The library will pro-
vide a 5 by 5 foot space
and the electricity.
Entrants provide the
decorated tree and ex-
tension cord (if need-
ed), along with a sign
with the business, club,
organization, or non-
profit name.
Spaces with elec-
tricity are limited. Un-
lit trees are welcome
and can be placed in
high-traffic areas.
In years past, themes
have included patriotic
t re e s , o l d f a s h i o n e d
trees, traditional trees,
Cardinal trees, Inter-
national Tractor trees,
pet-themed trees, and
others.
All voting will take
place at the circulation
desk. Voting is one dol-
lar per vote.
Applications and
payments are due by
