(Valiz and Sanford household)

EARLY MORNING and Raiven woke up, yawning. Keiran was not by his side anymore, so he assumed he
already left for work. It had been like that for a couple of months now.
nakikita. There were days that Keiran wasn't home, even weeks. He was not complaining though, this
was better than not seeing Keiran for months! Even a year!

Now, he just had to wait for a couple of days or weeks. That was enough for Raiven, but he was
still sulking. He hated being apart from Keiran, though he will not admit that to his hun. Nope. Never.

With that in mind, Raiven entered the bathroom to freshen up and clean himself^ then he stepped out
of their room with only sweatpants on and a simple white t-shirt.

Messing his still wet hair, Raiven went down the stairs and headed straight to the kitchen to have some
coffee before he actively searched for breakfast.
Entering the kitchen, Raiven halted by the door when he saw his hun cooking breakfast. Instantly Raiven
felt happy to see Keiran, but it didn't show on his face. "You're still here...?" |E1

Keiran glanced at Raiven and smiled. "I'm cooking you breakfast before I leave for work." ^1

Keiran's smile did something to Raiven, all right. His heart raced because of one single smile. That's how
in love Raiven was with Keiran. "You...shouldn't have. Baka ma-late ako. Doon na lang sana ako nag-
breakfast kina Mama."

Keiran just smiled and puckered his lips. "Come here. Give me my morning kiss."

Raiven shook his head at Keiran, but still willingly went to his hun and placed a soft kiss on
Keiran's lips. "Morning..."

"Good morning to you too, kara," Keiran whispered and kissed Raiven on the forehead. ^1

Keiran had to stop himself from grinning widely when Raiven's whole expression softened. Raiven
wrapped his arms around his waist from the side and rested his chin on his shoulder.

"Do you have to go to work?" Raiven asked, and Keiran was certain that

Raiven had no idea that he looked like he was sulking.

So adorable. Keiran kissed Raiven again on the lips this time and the tip of
Raiven's nose. "Sony kara. I'll be gone for a few days this time, maybe a week or two."

Raiven was silent but he was pouting, making Keiran secretly chuckle.

"When will you get a day off?" Raiven asked.

"Two months from now, at our wedding."

Raiven's face went back to being calm and bright. "Okay. Be careful out there." Raiven smacked Keiran's
ass and kissed Keiran's neck before letting him go to sit on the table. "Breakfast please, hun."

Keiran just chuckled at the sudden change of Raiven's mood. Well, Keiran was happy too. After planning
for more than a year, after rebooking their flight countless times because he couldn't get a vacation
from his job, it was finally happening. He was finally going to marry his kara in two months' time.

Keiran knew that nothing would change once they got back from their wedding abroad, but just
the thought of tying the knot with his kara...it was enough for Keiran.

"Hun?"

Keiran turned to Raiven who was now sipping his coffee. "Yes, kara?"

"Do you like dogs?" Pl

It was a random question that earned a frown from Keiran. "Dogs? Why did you ask?" "Want to adopt a
dog?"

Keiran was still not getting Raiven's reasoning since it was the first time that Raiven mentioned
an animal to him. "Why?"

Raiven sipped his coffee. "We can't have kids, so... you know."

Keiran took a deep breath and went to embrace his kara from behind and kissed his temple. "Do you
even like dogs?"

"Kinda."

"Can you take care of it?"

Raiven paused for a second before shaking his head. "I'm always busy. I probably can't."

"Then let's not adopt one," Keiran concluded. "Mahihirapan lang 'yong aso kasi hindi naman
natin maaalagaan nang maayos. And..." Keiran kissed Raiven's cheek. "I already have a baby right here."
Keiran tightened his hug on Raiven. "I think my kara is enough to keep me up all night." p

Raiven flicked Keiran's forehead. "I'm serious."

Keiran became serious as well. "Kara, if you want to adopt, what about a child?" p

Mabilis na napalingon si Raiven kay Keiran. "Are you serious?"

Tumango si Keiran. "It's not going to be easy; especially in our situation. That's why I want to do it when
we're both ready for it. Let's not do it half baked, kara. There will be a lot of complications I'm sure, so
we have to think it through since a child is involved. And when we're both ready, how about we adopt
two? One for you and one for me? On paper, it'll be like solo parenting as you know, but we'll raise them
as siblings and family."

Raiven was overcome with unfairness as he looked at Keiran. "Why is it so hard to be accepted
by the state? It didn't matter to me before, but what's so wrong about loving the same gender?"

Keiran smiled and kissed Raiven's lips. "It's an ongoing battle. As of now, whatever the state believes, I
just want to love you and be with you. Let's think of adoption when we're both ready."

Raiven nodded. "Okay. Anyway, my breakfast, please. I'm hungry. You kept me up all night last night."

Keiran chuckled and let go of Raiven. "Coming, kara."

Keiran finished cooking their breakfast and served it on the table.

"Here you go, breakfast with so much love from me to my kara," Keiran said with a wide and loving
smile. PI

He would never admit it, but
breakfast with so much love from his hun was one of the best breakfasts in the whole world.

Sorry, Ma, Raiven thought when he remembered Keiran's mother's cooking. I'll choose my hun's
breakfast overyours.

KNOWING THAT KEIRAN was not home and at work, when Raiven went home after work, he
went straight to Keiran's parents' house. He had been there hundreds of times already that he felt like
he was already part of the family— well, he was treated as one all the time, anyway

"0, Raiven."

"I've been working." "May kaso na naman bang hawak?"

Raiven nodded. "Just one."

"And you're that tired already?"

"Keiran's at work," said Raiven, like it should be an enough reason.

"Kaya naman pala." Kaagad na naintindihan ni Stella kung bakit parang walang buhay si Raiven. "You're
always like this when Keiran's not home." "He's like my vitamin, Ma."

Raiven just smiled and lazily rested his face on the table while waiting for Keiran's mom's food.

"I'm noticing something, Raiven..." Stella drawled while preparing the food and glancing at Raiven.

"What is it, Ma?"

"You're becoming a baby." Stella placed the plate with food on the table in front of Raiven and pinched
his cheek. "So far from the very stoic and cold Raiven I met a year ago."

Raiven smiled, still resting the side of his face on the table's surface. "Keiran likes it when I'm being a
baby."

Stella sighed and flicked Raiven's cheek. "Yeah, yeah. Kumain ka na para makapagpahinga ka kaagad sa
bahay n'yo. What do you want for breakfast tomorrow? Wala si Keiran kaya sigurong wala kang
agahan."

Raiven straightened his body and smiled happily at Keiran's mother. "Lots of bacon, please."
Stella shook her head. "What's with you and bacon? You really like eating it in the morning."

Raiven's face softened before he answered. "We were not well off before, so the bacon was a lxixury for
It's a pity...I would've bought her lots and lots of bacon to show her my affection."

Stella's eyes watered with unshed tears, so she immediately turned around and pretended like she was
not crying. "You have us now and I'll buy you lots of bacon. And I think Keiran was buying you lots of
bacon as well.

"...I love bacon."

"Then I'll make a delicious dish made with bacon tomorrow," Stella said with so much fervor. "You will
definitely like it."

"Thanks, Ma."

Stella turned to Raiven and looked at him. "Are you excited for yours and Keiran's wedding?"

Raiven stopped eating and placed the spoon and fork on the side of the plate. "I am, but I'm kind of
nervous as well, Ma."

Stella immediately gave all her attention to Raiven. "Tell me, I'll help you."

Raiven sighed heavily like he was carrying a burden. "The honeymoon, Ma. I don't think I can
walk the next day. What am I going to do?"
Stella was so serious that when she heard the reason of Raiven's nervousness, she couldn't help flicking
his forehead hard. "Gago ka talagang bata ka. Ang seryo-seryoso ko rito, tapos 'yan lang pala inaaalala
mo! Karatihin kaya kita?!"

Raiven laughed while caressing his forehead. "Ma naman," reklamo ni Raiven kapagkuwan ay naging
seryoso ito. "When I accepted Keiran into my life, I already decided to see this through. To reach the end
of our lifetime together. There's no nervousness when it comes to tying the knot with Keiran. I'm
excited, actually. Even if our state wouldn't acknowledge our marriage abroad, I'm still happy. I'm
marrying the man who I trust and love, and I think, for me, that's already a dream come true."

Stella sighed softly and caressed Raiven's hair. "You've become soft since you started living with
Keiran."

Raiven smiled. "That means I'm in good hands, Ma."

Stella jokingly pinched Raiven's ear. "You always have a comeback." PB

"I'm a lawyer," Raiven said, like it was the answer to everything.

"Thanks, Ma."
Stella messed Raiven's hair before leaving him in the kitchen. Meanwhile, while Raiven was eating alone,
he couldn't help feeling grateful for being treated like a son by Keiran's parents. Before, he thought
family would only hurt you since he was raised in a family who hurt him deeply; but now, being with
Keiran's family, being taken care of by Keiran's parents when Keiran's busy, Raiven now had a new
understanding and opinion about family.

Raiven couldn't help smiling to himself. It's been more than ayear since I lived with Keiran. Is it now safe
to say that I've changed for the better? Raiven hoped so. If there was one person he didn't want to
disappoint or hurt, that would be Keiran.

Who would've thought that he would be the love of my life? Napailing na lang si Raiven habang
kumakain.

Meanwhile, Raiven's love of his life, Keiran, was in his room in the headquarters, lying on his bed with hi
phone on hand, watching videos of his kara that he sneakily took when his kara was not looking. PI

A smile stretched on Keiran's lips while watching. The videos had been Keiran's saving grace when he's
at work. It helped him not to miss his kara a lot.

Keiran was about to look for another video when he received a call from his kara.

"Yes, kara?"

Raiven smiled when he heard the eagerness in Keiran's voice. "Busy?" "Nope. You?"
"Kakauwi lang," kuwento ni Raiven habang binubuksan ang pintuan ng bahay gamit ang susi niya.
"Galing ako kina Mama. Doon ako nag-dinner. You know me, I dislike cooking."

"You cooked for me though," Keiran said with a smile.

"That's different." Raiven entered their home. "It's you, so..."

Keiran's smile widened. "Ah, I feel special."

"You are."

Keiran messed his own hair while smiling sillily. "Why did you call? Miss me?"

"Nope," Raiven denied. "I figuredjyow missed me, so I called."

Keiran chuckled. "You got me, kora."

uuwi?"

"Weekend."

"Let's go on a date?"
Keiran froze for a moment. Raiven had changed, but he was not the type to ask

Keiran on a date. They'd been living together for more than year, and Raiven only asked him on
a date twice. And it was their birthdays.

"What's the occasion?"

Raiven shrugged as he ascended the stairs towards their bedroom. "Nothing much. I just want to go out
with you."

Keiran was still surprised. "Do you...have a place in mind?"

"Yeah. So? Date?" Raiven asked nonchalantly, but the truth was that his heart was racing.

"Sure," Keiran answered, and Raiven felt relieved. "Does our date involve making love?"

Raiven shook his head, but still answered with a smile, "Probably." "Great!" Keiran grinned. "Can't wait!"

Raiven chuckled and entered their bedroom. "I have to hang up. I need to read some books."

"You have a new case?"

"Yep."

"Oh. Okay. But don't stay up late, kara" paalala ni Keiran sa kapareha.

"I won't. Love you, hun."

Keiran couldn't help smiling at those two words. "Love you too, kara.”

When the line died, Keiran sighed in contentment with a smile on his lips even though that only lasted
for a couple

minutes. But then he received a message after the call.

My conscience has been eating me up, yes, I have a conscience because I'm a very awesome
person, so...mind if we talk?- Your ex-boss, Kamden the great and the awesome.

Keiran lost his smile, and a frown made its way to his eyebrows. What the hell does he want this time?
