    CONVERSATION: THE BEST ENGLISH LEARNING SOLUTION

    Imagine that no-one in your company speaks English, but you need it. You must find a
    solution rapidly.

    The following proposals are possibilities. Choose one and be ready to defend it.

    1. An independent language school not far from your company. A very recent school with

    specialist English courses for professional groups, and also general English. The Director

    offers tailor-made, full- or part-time courses for your staff at his school. These courses will

    be quite expensive. The school at present has no laboratory and only three computers.

    2. Sending staff on short, intensive courses to an English-speaking country – preferably in

    Britain. An agency offers advice on appropriate courses and gives a number of contacts in

    England.

    3. Installing an ultra-modern multimedia language laboratory with complete audio-visual

    courses for self-tuition. These courses are successful all over Europe. A sophisticated but

    expensive solution with the installation of a language laboratory, but it seems good value for

    money.

    4. Hiring a full-time English language instructor/administrator in the company. The courses are

    given on site / at the company's premises, but one problem would be to find suitable rooms

    with equipment. Personnel who urgently need training have priority for these classes.

    5. Courses based uniquely on the Internet. Teachers by videoconference. You do not need to be

    face to face with your interlocutor, and you can have a class at almost any time of the day.

    You do not need to leave your office.
