Geographic characteristics
The relief of Switzerland is generally divided into three main regions. The
first and best known of them are the Alps, a mountain range that extends
through other European countries; It is in this place where the highest
point of the country is located, Monte Rosa, with 4634 meters of altitude.
The second region is the central plateau, which occupies most of the
country and allows the main economic practices to occur, including
agriculture. In addition, to the northwest are the Jura mountains, which
herald the type of geologically recent relief on Swiss territory.

Switzerland is considered one of the most attractive countries in Europe.

Foundation
The foundation of the modern State of Switzerland dates back to the year
1848. Before this date, Switzerland used to be a mere alliance of
independent cantons. In 1848, the modern constitution of Switzerland
was approved, turning the union of states into a federal state.
- Why is Switzerland considered to be the most developed country
in Europe?

in the world. Due to its policy of neutrality, it is home to a large number of
immigrants from nations on various continents, which is why it is
considered one of the European countries with the greatest cultural
diversity.

respect that people show towards each other, the Swiss democratic
system, good infrastructure, a high level of security and really beautiful
scenery.
facts about the Swiss economy

Only 0.0001% of the world's population lives in Switzerland. Of the one

thousand millionaires registered in the world, at least 10% live in
Switzerland. Switzerland is the 20th largest exporting country in the world
and the 19th largest importer. Forty percent of the inhabitants of
Switzerland (7.5 million) have assets of more than 1.2 million francs.
The flag of Switzerland

The Swiss flag is the only one along with the Vatican that has a square
shape. It is true that at first glance all the flags of the world can be like
this, the truth is that the designs of all of them are oblong.
The square shape is a peculiar feature, along with the Vatican insignia. In
Switzerland there is no difference between the coat of arms and the
national flag as in other countries: the national coat of arms with a red
field and a white cross always maintains its square shape.

A silver cross in the field of gules was the banner of the confederate
militias since the fourteenth century. With the constitution of the federal
state in 1848, the banner of the white cross on a red background became
the official national flag of Switzerland.

-Curious fact:
The flag of the Red Cross was also inspired by that of Switzerland, only
inverting the colors, in honor of the homeland of Henri Dunant, the
founder of the same.

Unlike other countries, the Swiss Confederation does not have a president
or prime minister acting as head of state or government. In Switzerland
the executive power is not assigned to an individual but to a Federal
Council of seven members. Each member of the Council has similar powers,
and each is operationally responsible for a ministry.
