Introduction
The S.B.A for physical education and sports instructs that students are to host a competition with

each students taking on the role as an official in the tournament. The students are required to

manage every aspect of the tournament such as planning out games raising money for prizes as

well as umpiring the game.

Our class decided to do the sport football. Each member of the class was given a certain role for a

certain aspect of the tournament. Football was chosen because we have seen a decline in the

interest of the sport at St. Catherine High School. We conducted the tournament among the Third

formers to revamp interest among the lower school. Throughout the competition, each student was

required to fulfil the responsibilities of their roles and report on what they have done. My S.B.A is on

the role of the Event Manager. .

convincingly conveyed a spirit of adventure in regard to helping me with this S.B.A .Without his

Reflection 1
(Why I chose Physical Education)

Physical education is one of my favorite subjects, and it's one in which I'm comfortable and

knowledgeable. Physical Education promotes a variety of life skills, including health and stress

alleviation. It also helps me build my leadership, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities, as well as

push myself out of my comfort zone to take on new social, physical, and emotional challenges, such

as risk assessment, which necessitates the investigation and development of decision-making skills.

Physical Education has a wide array of career prospects, many of which go unnoticed because many

people dismiss the profession.

Another reason for ‘Why I chose Physical Education” is because it is perfectly connected with

one of my greatest passions, Track & Field. It keeps me up to date on all elements of my specialty as

well as sports in general.

Reflection 2
(Why did I choose my role : Event Manager)

By studying events management, you'll be set up with skills that won't just help you succeed in

this particular career path.

I chose to become a Event Manager Because it will allow me to get expertise in the field of

management, which I will be able to apply in the future. After being pruned as an Event manager in

the future, I aim to learn a lot of new things and be able to apply what I've learned. Being a Event

manager will educate me how to have great social skills for interacting with clients, venues, guests and

suppliers. How to have a knack for organizing, a high level of attention to detail and a love of punctuality.
Reflection 3
(Benefits of doing the SBA)

The School Based Assessment taught me how to officiate and plan a sporting event, namely a

football tournament. It broadened my understanding of football, the genuine meaning of being a first

aid officer, and the significance of this duty in a big event like this. It has given me a fresh

perspective on the sport, and I now have a much higher regard for the preparation that goes into

officiating a competition. During the course of this S.B.A., the ability to recognize talent, as well as

unity and happiness among participating students and officials, were all brought about.
Reflection 4
(Difficulties faced in the completion of the SBA)

There were a lot of benefits to completing this S.B.A., but there were also a lot of disadvantages.

One of the disadvantages was an overpopulation of students on the field as a result of them skipping

classes during the game. They also dispersed the sidelines, making it impossible for the secretary to

keep track of the scores. The students also broke into the officials' tent and stole the refreshments

meant for the athletes, hindering our ability to do our jobs correctly. We were also preoccupied with

other responsibilities, which diverted time away from our primary responsibilities, such as capturing

the match.
Grade 11¹‐⁵ physical education class hosted a football competition
entitled "Junior Football Tournament". Ten teams entered the
competition, namely: Liverpool, Manchester City, Cotton Picas, FC
Real Madrid, Man City, Juventus, 9⁸, 7³, Super Strikers and Bayem.

The organising committee was in place at 12pm. The event

started at 12:30pm. The games were played in a competitive yet
friendly atmosphere. There were no major injuries however minor
injuries were treated by the first aiders. The finalists were Man City
and 9⁸. In the end 9⁸ won by 3 goals to 2. The completion was a
success and ended at approximately 5:00pm.
Conclusion

The completion of the "Junior Football Tournament 2022" was a success, as evidenced by an

increase in interest in the sport as it flourishes at St. Catherine High School. "I would like to thank all

of the footballers who participated in the tournament, as their participation helped to increase the

appeal of football and made our S.B.A. worthwhile."

Recommendation

Even though our competition was a success, there are a few things that may be improved in the

future to make it even better. These are some of them:

• Consultation with teachers to inform them of the potential for distraction produced by pupils,

in order to keep them in their lessons.

• Close the huge gate to prevent students from entering the field during the game.

• Engage the services of a photographer to capture the various occasions.

• Arrange for them to be escorted out from under the authorities' tent by security.

• To keep them from crowding the sides, put up barriers.

(What is Physical Education?)

Physical education is an educational process that aims to improve human development and perform

through physical activity. It tends to take place at school through formal lessons, but it also includes informal a

such as play. It is a process of learning, the context being mainly physical. The purpose of this process is to de
specific knowledge, skills, and understanding and to promote physical competence.

However, equally as important, physical education focuses students' attention on understanding the pro

of the social environment that may inhibit them and others from pursuing active lifestyles. The ‘Three Fundam

Factors’ that influence the guiding principles of Physical Education are: Individual, Social and Inclusive.

(History of Football ( Locally)

Records available indicate that football was introduced in Jamaica towards the end of the 19th ce

but 1893 is listed as the year Jamaica formed its first football club.

Jamaica made its first international appearance against Caribbean neighbours Haiti in 1925 for a t

game series. Jamaica won all three games by 1-0, 2-1 and 3-0 margins. The following year Jam

hosted their Haitians counterparts at Sabina Park and won 6-0. The Haitians defeated Jamaica for th

time in 1932 with a 4-1 home win in Port-au-Prince.

Between 1925 and when Jamaica gained independence in 1962, Jamaica had regular games

Trinidad and Tobago, Haiti, Cuba and clubs like Racing and Violette from Haiti, Corinthians of Britai

Tigers from Argentina, and even a series of matches with a Caribbean All Stars team in 1952.

Those friendly international games were the start of Jamaica’s football quest with most of the
matches being played at Sabina Park. Many clubs were established during that time including Kensin

Melbourne, Kingston, Lucas and St. George’s Old Boys, thus providing the talent Jamaica needed a

time.

Under the leadership of Brazilian coach Jorge Penna in 1965, Jamaica made its first attempt at W

Cup qualifying. This was for the 1966 World Cup finals in England.Jamaica made it to the final gro

three, which included Costa Rica and Mexico. The winner of the group would represent the CONCA

region at the FIFA World Cup.

But Jamaica lost at home to Mexico 3-2 and in the return leg in Mexico City under high altitude they

crushed 8-0. Jamaica lost 7-0 to Costa Rica in their first encounter and had a 1-1 tie when they play

home.In 1968 coach George Hamilton took leadership as Jamaica made an attempt to qualify for the

World Cup Finals in Mexico. Jamaica had only a few remaining players from the previous World Cup

and had to rebuild because most of the players had retired or migrated to North America and England

Jamaica lost all of their qualifying games in that year. The country did not participate in the qualifie

the 1974 World Cup because 17 players on the team were suspended for poor behaviour on a to

Bermuda. And for the 1982 World Cup in Spain Jamaica did not participate in the qualifiers becau

financial problems. The country also did not take part in the 1986 World Cup because of suspensio

affiliation fees that were due to FIFA.
