In pursuit of starting my nursing career and soon earning a Bachelor of Science in

Nursing in May, I am thrilled to find your opening for an inpatient nurse residency program. I
have a strong admiration for the [Hospital] and I believe my skills and experience will fit the
hospital strongly.
While attending the College of Nursing of the University of Arizona I was able to gain
multiple clinical rotations experience. In these rotations, I was able to gain confidence and
enhance my nursing skills. One of my clinical experiences was at Banner Desert Medical Center
where I had the opportunity to be in the pediatrics emergency department. Here is where I knew
that my abilities and skills were meant for the emergency department. Although I would prefer a
position in the emergency department, I am also open to other units in the hospital. I am
confident that background and commitment will serve well at [Hospital].
I was able to complete my transition to practice at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in the
orthopedic unit. Here was where I really gained my independence as a nursing student. At the
end of my transition to practice, I was able to take care of total care of three patients. Reviewing
the constructive criticism that I received from both my preceptor and my instructor, I was able to
better my routine. This helped me organize myself and learn what worked with my style of
nursing.
I believe my collaboration and teamwork abilities will provide an invaluable asset to
your team. Thank you for your consideration. I would welcome an interview to discuss further
the position and the ways in which I can positively impact the [Hospital] .
