1. GENERAL

A brief description for removal of existing tree & site clearing is documented below which
explaining construction procedures, materials, equipment and tolerances applicable.

A general sequence of Removal of Existing Tree & Site Clearing is demonstrated in


pictorial diagrams. This section deals with the removal of existing tree & site clearing for
Package CP101 and CP102, start on 28th February – 22nd March 2014 which covers III
section :
a) Ciputat Raya Street – Tersier
b) Pasar Jumat Street (Depot Area) - Primer
c) Kartini Street - Secunder

The working time for the tree relocation work for the walkway and greenbelt (Ciputat Raya
and Kartini street) will be from 23:00 to 05:00. In the Depot Area relocation work may be
carried out anytime since the area is closed from public transportation.

Work Procedure
• For Small Tree Relocation Work
1. Install safety sign and caution tape for tree relocation work.
2. Removal and uprooting of tree can be done on the daytime and stock on the
beside sidewalk whichever the location of tree relocation.
3. Schedule to collect uprooted tree will be on midninght because we need to
utilize public transportation for loading of tree for relocation.
4. Traffic signs, traffic warning, barricades, etc will be on standby during loading
work on the road.
5. Clear spillage on the road and housekeeping before moving out of area.

• For Sidewalk Tree Uprooting and Relocation Work


1. Occupy one lane of the road must be install safety barricade and sign before
start cutting work.
2. Traffic signs, traffic warning, barricades, etc will be on standby to warn user
public transportation include motorist, car, sidewalk user if tree uprooting will
start an also lifting of tree.
3. Cut the tree small branches first before manual uprooting will start then lift up
the tree trunk to the material truck for relocation and replanting.
4. Uprooting and removal of tree will have a limited time for 23:00 to 04:00 and
clearing on the road will continue until 05:00.
5. Load immediately cut tree branches to the service truck for disposal.
6. Road cleaning and housekeeping work on site before we open the road.
7. Remove the temporary safety barricades on the road and open for traffic.
8. Repeat procedure for the next continuous stage until completion.

• For Depot Area Tree Relocation Work


1. Install safety sign and caution tape for tree relocation work depot area.
2. Removal and uprooting of tree can be done on anytime.
3. Schedule to collect uprooted tree will be on anytime since the area is closed
from public transportation.
4. Traffic signs, traffic warning, barricades, etc will be on standby during loading
work on the depot.
5. Clear waste residual on the depot and housekeeping before moving out of area.

2. MATERIAL

Temporary Hoarding

Temporary hoarding shall be installed before site clearing works start. Height, type and
color of temporary hoarding shall be discussed in order to suit to site condition and
local culture / regulations.

3. SURVEY

Temporary bench marks / control points shall be installed on ground nearby the
construction site. Surveyor shall in routine check the reference coordinates of control
points frequently.

Surveyor will set out the area of Construction site. The marking of temporary hoarding
alignments shall be joint-inspected by JV and Engineer before work starts.

a) Construction site layout and temporary hoarding layout shall be demarcated at


construction site first before site clearing works start.
b) Trees that need to be removed shall be marked / indicated properly before works
start. The marking shall be reviewed and confirmed by the local authorities.

4. TYPICAL CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE

4.1 General of Cutting Tree

Only after getting approval from the Head of Landscape and Cemetery (Dinas
Pertamanan) DKI Province and relevant authorities regarding the existing trees, the
trimming or felling work shall start and be carried out.
The typical construction sequence of the removal of existing trees is described below.
1) Obtain approved layout plan of existing tree removal from the Engineer.
2) Co-ordinate with local authorities regarding the trees to be fell.
3) Joint-inspection at construction site with representatives from local authorities for the
trees to be fell.
4) Install marking on the trees which need to be removed during the site inspection.
5) The marking on trees shall be quite rigid so that it will not be removed or changed
easily.
6) Prepare shop drawings of removal of existing tree and submit to the Engineer and
local authorities for approval.
7) After getting approval from local authorities, temporary barricade the surrounding of
the trees to be fell.
8) Area to be barricaded shall be considered properly so that trees will not fell outside
the barricaded area and cause injury.

9) During the tree falling, only experience workers shall present and cut the trees with
proper tools.
10) Warning signs shall be installed at certain areas and signalman shall also present to
give warning to the public.
11) After removal of existing tree, debris shall be collected and disposed off-site.
12) The team of workers shall be shifted to other area where trees need to be remove
and same procedure to be repeated as above.
13) After removal of existing trees, joint-inspection shall be carried with the Engineer and
local authorities to confirm the cutting.

4.2 Removal of Existing Trees (Type A) construction sequence

1) Secure the work area (setting barriers).


2) Setting crane.
3) Attach the strap at the end of the three, hold by crane.
4) Prepare the place position where the tree to be lay down.
5) Cut the tree from the bottom.
6) Lay the tree at the safe place. *) Use the guide rope to drive when the tree lay down
slowly.
7) Cut trees over 2m ~ 2.5m.
8) Tansport to disposal area.

4.3 Removal of Existing Trees (Type B & D) construction sequence

1) Secure the work area (setting barriers).


2) Cut the sticks of tree from the top.
3) Cut the branches tree. *) Use the guide rope to drop of stick slowly.
4) Cut trees over 2m ~ 2.5m and same as ground level.
5) Transport to disposal area.

4.4 Removal of Existing Trees (Type C) construction sequence

1) Small trees considered can be cut directly.

4.5 General of Site Clearing

1) Prior to the commencement of site clearance, the following shall be carried out either
independently or jointly with the Employer's Representative.

a) The boundary of work site shall be surveyed and set out according to the
coordinates stated in the drawings.
b) Photographs shall be taken of structures, landscaping trees and shrubs, fences,
telephone and electrical poles and etc.
c) Access roads to the site shall be constructed if required to enable vehicles,
equipment and plants to be brought into the site.
d) Solid waste dumps sites shall be predetermined within or outside the site for the
dumping of the site clearing materials. The Employer’s Representatives or
relevant authorities shall approve these dumping sites.

2) The site clearance shall then proceed to clear the trees, vegetation, undergrowth,
bushes and minor structures by hydraulic excavators and/or dozers.

3) All unwanted materials shall be piled up and disposed off-site in a safe tidy manner at
the designated dumping areas.

4) Material designated in the contract or direct by the Engineer to be salvaged, shall be


carefully removed and stored, and shall be the property of the Employer or
Government whichever is specified in the contract.

5) Install permanent site hoarding, construct Engineer & Contractor office, temporary
drainage and other buildings according to Engineer’s approved Site Utilization Plan.

5. PLANTS AND EQUIPMENTS

The plant and equipment planned to be used for Backfilling and Landscaping works is
shown in Table 2-2.

6. TYPICAL DRAWING AND TRAFFIC CONTROLLER

Typical drawing layout cutting trees is shown in Appendix 1. This layout for cutting trees
shows path of areas consist of Area A (Kartini Street), Area B (Depot Area), and Area C
(Ciputat Raya Street).

For Depot Area (Area B), the cutting and relocation work may be carried out anytime
since the area is closed from public transportation and the method of work will follow the
C work procedure as described above. The method for Area A and Area C is shown in
Appendix 2. For layout cutting trees sign shown in Appendix 3.
