Reflection Paper
Lesson 10
Kasalukuyang Pilipinas at ang Landas Tungo sa Kinabukasan (2001-
kasalukuyan)

In this lesson there is a book that can be used as a basis to better understand our lesson
entitled “State and Society in the Philippines” and “Counterrevolution, The Global Rise
of the Far Right” by. Walden Bello.

The Philippines is currently recognized for its stunning beaches and delectable fruit. The
group of islands in Southeast Asia was named after King Philip II of Spain. However, our
country's journey, we may say, is not easy before we attain the things we are currently
known for. The Philippines suffered a lot as a result of several countries' colonization, yet
history has a lesson and significance that we may apply today. The books mentioned here
can be shown the long-suffering of the Philippines and the change achieved by our
country. President Duterte's leadership was also mentioned in one of the books, which
can be said to be completely changed and improved our country. And also it said that
President Duterte has been compared to former President Marcos through the courage
they both have.

The importance of learning this lesson is that I better understood the things that have
changed in the Philippines and what is the current situation of our country after the
hardships suffered by our ancestors. There are many issues and problems in our country
right now and we can't get rid of them, so let's keep working together to change and help
our country.
