Integrative Therapy² & INP#2 ○

One integrative therapy that could be used with
multiple sclerosis (MS) is music therapy. Neurologic music
therapy has been shown to improve cognitive function in
patients with MS. Associated Mood and Memory Training
(AMMT) associates autobiographical memories with music.
Music in Psychosocial Training and Counseling (MPC) uses
guided music listening to identify emotions, for expression,
mood control, social competence, and awareness.
It may seem that MS does not align with INP#2 as it is
an autoimmune disorder that shows just how damaging the
body can be to itself. However, when we see how something ●
such as neurologic music therapies can improve emotional ○
status, motivation, and mood which in turn can improve

overall quality of life – it is a good example of the body’s

innate capacity for healing.
