Hospital responsibilies :
I have performed and assisted a variety of General surgical
procedures .As a routine ,I do ward rounds with consulatant,
prepare patient for surgery ,inpatient care ,emergency on call
and managing routine General surgical and sub specialty
surgical emergencies,admitting patient to ward,supervise and
perform documentation (daily progress
notes,discharge ,handover notes). I have special interest in
laparoscopic and breast surgery . Under supervision can gain

 safe access to abdomen, good camera skills , basic

laparoscopic intra and extracorporeal suturing , safe use of
energy devices, securing hemostasis ,port site closure.

I like to attend colonoscopies ,ERCP, upper GI endoscopy of

my patients.

Personal statement :
I am seeking employment at your prestigious hospital
in order to broaden the horizon of my experience and
giving a whole new perspective to my career. The two
healthcare systems I have so far worked at (Pakistan and
UAE) for more than 8 years ,are very different in terms
of resources , organization and workflow . This has given
me opportunity to be exposed to a variety of not only
clinical but non-clinical ( insurance, financial ,personal
etc) scenarios as well .Consequently,I have good
communication and problem solving skills.I am able to
demonstrate resilience and flexibility in stressful
situations.Patient safety and confidentiality has remained
central to my practice at both countries.

I have the ability to identify my limitations and do the needful

by appropriate escalation.I share a cordial but professional work
ethic with my colleagues, juniors and seniors alike and

understand the need for co-operation within the trust/hospital

policies and practices. I value the importance of time and have
good time management skills which are needed for a healthy
work- life balance.

I am familiar and comfortable with computer skills required for

health professionals and open to innovative ideas . At my
current workplace ,we use electronic patient record for our daily
work like routine notes, documentation ,prescribing regular and
controlled drugs etc

I am a regular attendee and presenter at relevant surgical and

educational conferences and courses.Recent attandance of
hands-on robotics workshop on Verseus system has been a great
experience.I prefer taking courses to upgrade my skills .Most of
these are offered at Sharjah surgical institute which is also
regional Centre for Royal college of surgeons England ,well
equipped with dry and wet labs.

I have worked on mandatory research dissertation as part of my

post graduate training titled “ comparison of post operative pain
in open versus laparoscopic u biblical hernia repair”. I am keen
to work on audits , research and quality improvement projects
with appropriate support and opportunities.

I have volunteered at breast cancer screening clinic at “Pink

Caravn UAE “ programme ,allowing me to be a part of
community as a surgeon. I have recently attended the workshop
about introduction to practice in the UK.I am keen to focus on

developing understanding of the NHS system and follow the

guidelines and policies expected at this post.
