About the Seminar:
The development of Copyright law has a direct link with development of technology. In digital age,
digital technologies has caused strain in copyright protection due to the relative ease of replication,
manipulation, reproduction and dissemination of copyrighted works. Digital technology has
ramifications for copyright law. It challenges to the owners of copyright whose creative works in under
serious threat in this age. The theme of the seminar is “Copyright in Emerging Technology: Issues
and Challenges” which cover the issues of discussion under copyright law which are emerging due to
technological development. The Copyright law was amended in the year 2012 to overcome the
challenges posed by digital technology. The objective of the seminar is to provide a platform to the
participants to discuss all such issues under copyright law. The seminar shall be organized on 26 April
to celebrate World Intellectual Property Day.

Objectives of the Seminar:


One Day National Seminar on the topic “Copyright in Emerging Technology: Issues and Challenges”
is organized with objective to understand and disseminate knowledge about technological
developments and their interface with the copyright law.

 Technological Challenges to Existing Copyright System
 Copyright in Digital Contents
 Block Chain Technology and Digital Documents
 Digital Information and Metaverse
 Artificial Intelligence and Copyright
 Non-Fungible Tokens and Copyright
Above themes are indicative only. Interested participants may submit an abstract relevant to the topic
of the seminar. Selected papers will be published in the form of edited book from reputed publisher.

Eligible to Participate:
Academicians, professionals, research scholar and students may participate and present paper in the
seminar. Co-authorship/Joint authorship is allowed up to two authors only with additional charges.

About the University:


Central University of South Bihar (formally known as Central University of Bihar) was established in
the year 2009 through the Central Universities Act, 2009. It is the first Central University in the State
of Bihar. The University has adopted a progressive approach to carve a niche with its policies,
programmes and pedagogy for quality teaching and research. In its academic endeavour, it has
significantly achieved a landmark in terms of infrastructure, laboratories, research projects, faculty
recruitments, etc. along with UG and PG programmes being offered in the University premises. With
the motto of ‘Gyan Seva Vimuktaye’, the University has been conducting its academic and administrative
activities in its 300 acre campus at Panchanpur in Gaya district of Bihar. It is located at NH-120, Gaya
Tekari Road and around 18 kilometers from the district head quarter.

About the Research and Development Cell:


Research and Development Cell (R&D Cell) of Central University of South Bihar was established in
the year 2022 under the Guidelines of University Grants Commission for establishment of Research
and Development Cell in Higher Education Institutions. The Cell is established with the objective to
implement the National Education Policy, 2020 with the aim to pave the way for integrating the key
elements of Research, Innovation, and Technological Development for India’s Atma Nirbhar Bharat
Mission.

About the School:


School of Law and Governance of Central University of South Bihar started its journey in the year
2013 and has achieved various miles stones within the short span of time. Our students are successfully
placed in different legal spheres including as academicians, judges, lawyers, corporate law officers, law
officers in banks and insurance companies etc. Department adopts multidisciplinary approach to the
legal studies. It is striving towards imparting quality legal education to the students including the
underprivileged students of the society. The mission of the Department is to equip the students with
critical, analytical and applied skills and also to make them both transactional and litigating lawyers.
The department is presently offering Five Years Integrated B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M. (One Year) and
Doctoral Research programmes in the University premises.

Guidelines for Submission of Abstract/Full Papers:


A non-plagiarized abstract in about 300 words must be submitted in MS Word only. The length of
the full paper including tables, diagrams, illustrations, references, etc. should be between 4000-6000.
The font of abstract and paper should be Times New Roman, with font size 12 for main text and 10
for foot notes, line spacing 1.5 for main text and 1 for foot notes. The texts and footnotes must
conform the OSCOLA style of citation. Each abstracts shall be subject to peer-review by the
organizing committee and only shortlisted abstracts will be invited to submit final papers. The final
paper must be submitted after the intimation of acceptance of abstract. For participation, registration
is mandatory on the acceptance of abstract.

Abstract Submission: 15 April 2023
Intimation of Selected Abstracts: 18 April 2023
Full Paper Submission: 22 April 2023
Date of Seminar: 26 April 2023
