TUGASAN ADS560 SOUTHEAST ASIAN AFFAIRS

 Pelajar akan diberikan 3 tugasan untuk diselesaikan sebelum menghadapi final test.
Tugasan tersebut adalah alam bentuk kumpulan (Presentation, Asignment, Case
Study)
 Semua tugasan perlu dilaksanakan secara Kumpulan/Group
 Setiap kelas perlu sediakan 5 kumpulan. Mohon Class Rep (CR) bantu sir dalam
membahagikan kumpulan dan membahagikan kumpulan mengikut sama rata
 Mohon CR sediakan list nama setiap kumpulan untuk diberikan kepada sir. Sir
sertakan templete senarai nama untuk memudahkan urusan ini.
 Soalan setiap tugasan sir telah sediakan dibawah. Mohon setiap kumpulan pilih satu
tajuk untuk setiap tugasan.

TUGASAN 3

CASE STUDY SOUTHEAST ASIAN AFFAIRS (Case Analysis Studies (30%))


1. ASEAN Financial Crisis had affected whole Southeast Asia region on 1998. Analysed
how the issues happened, country effect and how do Southeast Asian find a solution
to overcome the situation.

2. ASEAN try to form its own “Peacekeeping team” starts the idea being brought out in
1994. Analysed the obstacle, effect, issues and how ASEAN strategies to make this
idea “ASEAN Peacekeeping Forces” become a reality.

3. Southeast Asia faces a problem when it comes to human trafficking. It effected


ASEAN as a whole. Analysed the problem, the issues, country effected and how do
ASEAN as a main organization in Southeast Asia play a vital role to overcome it.

4. Territorial issues is one of the sensitive issues between states and it also one of the
important unit in every state national Interest. Analysed the territorial issues@
problem that occur between states in southeast Asia and provided some evidence on
it. Elaborate also on how do ASEAN solve this issue and maintain its friendship
between state member.

5. ASEAN is the only organization that involves all the Southeast Asian state. Analysis
Why is ASEAN organization being so important to state member and provide some
evidence on it. Do elaborate on how do ASEAN can maintain its important until now
and how do you see how ASEAN face challenges and maintain its survival in the
future.

6. Refugee crisis in Southeast Asia has become increasingly in past years. Conflict in
Myanmar between the State government and the Rohingya people has create the
insecurity in Southeast Asia with the impact has been receive by Malaysia when
most of the Rohingya people ran from Myanmar to Malaysia to seek shelter under
UN Refugee Agency. Please discuss this issue and give some ideas how to resolving
these issues?

7. Timor leste is the only state that still until today did not get a change to be a member
of ASEAN. By rules and regulation Timor Leste is more than enough to become
ASEAN member. Please discuss briefly about these issues and give some idea and
recommendation if have on how to resolve this crisis.

GROUP PRESENTATION:

a. Description
It is a group work. Each Class must comprise of a 5 Group depending on the size of the
class. Lecturers/tutors may assign the topic Presentation will be online and in video format.
Total marks are 50% and will be converted into 20%. Present in video (student need to
present not create any video or audio only)

b. Schedule to submit present


- submission can be made on 4th Meetings and will be decide by the respective Lecturer

c. Aspects to include in the presentation slide


i. Student’s Name, Tutorial Group, Presentation Date and Question.
ii. Content:
• Introduction
• Main points
• Conclusion
• List of References

d. Format of the presentation

a. Start by addressing evaluator/ tutor and audience. Strictly no reading!


b. 15 -20 minutes presentation. Every group members has to present.
c. Appear in formal attire/ image/ appearance.
d. Students are free to use their own creativity or as suitable within the context of the
subject.

e. Presentation Topics (this is only guideline and you can add point accordance of your
reading and ideas)

Discuss on COOPERATION by highlighting the introduction, main factors, benefit or the


outbreak issues, impacts and lesson learn. Each GROUP has to choose ONE question that
already given by the lecturer
