Antimicrobial resistance (AMR)

 Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) occurs when microorganisms, such as bacteria,
viruses, fungi, and parasites, become resistant to antimicrobial drugs that were
previously effective in treating infections.
 This can lead to infections that are difficult or impossible to treat, increasing the
risk of illness, disability, and death.

Way To overcome from AMR:-

1-Prevention: One of the most effective ways to combat AMR is to prevent
infections from occurring in the first place.
This can be done through measures such as improving hygiene and sanitation,
vaccination, and safe food handling practices.

2-Rational Use of Antibiotics: Antibiotics should be used only when they are
needed and should be prescribed and administered according to established
guidelines.
Overuse and misuse of antibiotics can contribute to the development of AMR.

3-Research and Development: There is a need for continued investment in

the research and development of new antimicrobial drugs and alternative therapies,
such as vaccines, phage therapy, and probiotics.

4-Education and Awareness: Patients, healthcare professionals, and the

general public should be educated about the risks of AMR and the importance of
responsible use of antibiotics.

Global Cooperation: AMR is a global problem that requires a coordinated

international response. Governments, international organizations, and the private
