‘To Whom It May Concern: Thave had the pleasure of knowing Skye for four years at Cox High School. I have worked directly with Skye through the ministry of Young Life throughout her high school career. Skye is a natural born leader. She is responsible when it comes to school and has worked hard to earn an extremely impressive GPA while balancing playing sports and being involved with extra-curricular activities. Skye demonstrates her true capacity and heart through the activities she is involved in. For the time that I have known her, she has been passionate about reaching out to others. Skye was involved in the most recent election, going door to door trying to rally community members to be involved and spread awareness for election day. She also has served with the Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow program, assisting local teachers in the classroom, and getting hands on experience with adolescents in our area. Skye has served as a Student Leader within the ministry of Young Life for the last two years. On a weekly basis, Skye meets with and mentors middle school students in the local area. Skye is involved in planning events, YL leadership Training, and hours upon hours of community service through this ministry. She has demonstrated a true care for reaching out to younger friends and walking through life with them. Skye is involved in her community and is invested in the people within it. Her involvement in Young Life has grown her into a leader, and someone who cares about/ focuses on the communities that she is a part of. Skye will lift people up. Skye will be the kind of person who includes others and sets the bar high for others who look up to her: It is an honor to recommend for the DECA Scholarship.
