Political Profile: Caraga is compose of 5 provinces, 6 cities, 67 municipalities and 1,311 barangays.
How to get there: the Bancasi Airport in Butuan City accommodates daily flights from Manila and Cebu.
Daily turn around flights from Cebu to Manila to Butuan and Manila to Butuan are being served by Cebu
Pacific and the Philippine Airlines.
Provinces
Agusan del Norte, officially the province of Agusan del Norte, is a province in the Caraga region of the
Philippines. It’s the capital of Cabadbaran with several government offices located in the city of Butuan. In
1967, Republic Act 4979 divided Agusan into to two independent provinces; Agusan del Norte and Agusan
del Sur. On August 16, 2000, the seat of the provincial government
was transferred from Butuan to Cabadbaran through Republic Act
8811, although the province is yet to complete the transfer of
provincial services and functions to the new capital.

ATTRACTIONS
Kalinawan River It is considered as the cleanest
inland body of water and has been
used as a trading and missionary
route. A native tribe called
Mamanwas guard the river and
depend on it for subsistence. Aside
from swimming or fishing, you can
do canoeing here.
Butuan National Butuan National Museum showcases
Museum the cultural and historical heritage
Agusan del Norte. It hosts various
archaeological findings such as old
wooden boats, human bones,
traditional musical instruments,
agricultural implements, textiles,
and ceramic wares.
Lake Mainit One of the rising tourist spots in
Agusan del Norte and the 4th largest
lake in the Philippines. It covers a
total area of 17,060 hectares, it
boosts local tourism and hosts
endangered flora and fauna species.

Agusan Marsh It is considered as one of the most
Wildlife Sanctuary ecologically significant wetlands in
the Philippines encompassing about
14,000 hectares of interconnecting
rivers, channels, lakes, swamp,
forests and hydrophotic plants. Aside
from bird-watching sightseeing,
cruising with a dug-out canoe, and
possible swimming, you’ll also get
to experience the life get to
experience the life and culture of the
Manobo Tribe.
Giant Toog Tree One of the iconic landmarks of
Agusan del Sur. This is considered
as the tallest tree in the Philippines
standing about 65 meters high, 3.6
meters in diameter and estimated to
be more than 300 years old, it is the
most sacred tribal tree for many
indigenous peoples of San Francisco.
Ongop Cave One of the best spelunking
destinations in the province of
Agusan Del Sur. It is a very pristine
cave less-known even in the
neighboring provinces since it is
hidden deep the jungles. It has a
huge opening and inside the cave,
waters are coming from different
directions but local drink it believing
that it is a source of healing that
cures different illnesses. Amazing
stalactites and stalagmite formations
can be found in the cave. One of the
most prominent formation is the
‘Golden Staircase’.
FESTIVAL DESCRIPTION
Naligayan Festival Naliyagan is a Manobo word which
means “the chosen one” or “the
most loved one”. It is a weeklong
celebration showcases the
indigenous people cultures through
music and dance, native products,
ethnic games, and a host of sporting
tournaments and special events. The
festival depicts the Agusanon culture
and heritage.
DELICACY DESCRIPTION
Palagsing Another version of the suman that is
made from starch of sago palm
mixed with coconut and brown
sugar. This is usually eaten along
with hot chocolate or coffee, which
is perfect for the cold weather.
DINAGAT ISLANDS
Dinagat Islands, officially the Province of Dinagat Islands also,known as the ‘Mystical island Province of
love’ is a province in the Caraga Region of the Philippines, located
on the south side of Leyte Gulf. The island of Leyte is to its west,
across Surigao Strait, and Mindanao is to its south.

Lake Bababu Lake Bababu is among the top
Dinagat Island tourist spots.
Known for its enchanting view
and serene atmosphere, Lake
Bababu is a must see, especially
for nature lovers. Among the

rainforests surround the lake,
giving it a rustic view.
Isla Aga Isla Aga boasts of different
limestone rock formations covered

Bugkosan sa Isla “Bugkosan” originated from the
Festival word “pagbugkos” means to bind,
paghiusa, to unite, “paghugpong”
to merge,” pagbug-os” to
incorporate and “pagtibu” to
convene. It depects unity and
cooperation among all
Dinagatnons, and promotes the
province tourism potentialities, it
also commemorates the
declaration of Dinagat as a
province.
DELICACY DESCRIPTION
Kutsinta It is a type of steamed rice cake, it
is made from a mixture of tapioca
or rice flour, brown sugar and lye,
enhanced with yellow food
coloring or annatto extract, and
steamed in small ramekins.
Boundaries: the province is bounded by the Dinagat Islands on the north, east by the Philippine Sea, south
by the provinces of Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Sur, and on the west by the Surigao Strait.

Sohoton Cove This enchanting cove has caves
that are half submerged in the
waters. Some are accessible if its

Sirong Festival Sirong festival is about

Sayongsong Sayongsong is a traditional Filipino
steamed rice cake from Surigao del
Norte. It is distinctively served in
cone-shaped banana leaves,
syongsong is a type of puto.

Enchanted River One of the most visited tourist spots
in Surigao del Sur. It is considered
to be the most mysterious river in
the Philippines where the locals
believed that creatures like fairies,
pixies, and mermaid dwell. The
enchanted river is very clean and
clear. If someone swims in the
river, it looks like he is floating in
the sky for it is very clear.
Tinuy-an Falls Another breathtaking tourist
destination in the province. It is
dubbed as the most beautiful multi-
tier waterfall in the Philippines. The
curtain- like cascading waters is
camera worthy. It has three levels,
the second level is the tallest and
widest, a most favorite spot for
visitors. One can get closer to the
cascading waters through a bamboo
raft.
Lanuza Marine Park It is a 111-hectare Marine Protected
and Sanctuary Areas which is a habitat of different
aquatic species including the
famous pawikan. This is where the
famous Sanctuary Cafe is located
where you can relax and sip hot and
cold concoctions and native
products.

Poot-poot Ginamos Poot-poot is a unique and tasty treat
from Surigao. This flavorful
delicacy is made of small fishes
locally known as poot-poot. This
type of fish can only be found in
Philippine shores. This fish
specialty comes with fermented fish
sauce which is very cheap, making
it even more popular to tourists.
