SOLO EXHIBITION

EXxX-plicit
September 18 - October 30

ALBERTO ESCOBAR
2022
Statement
Dreams, fantasies, sexual fetishes, are some elements in taste and particularities of each person as a human
being, in their individuality, are accepted by some and rejected by others: it is a matter of taste and
preference.

In this sense, it would be logical that showing certain behaviors such as heterosexual caresses are more
socially accepted than homosexual or lesbian caresses, for example. What can be shown in public and what
cannot? There is social censorship for certain types of behavior and images, but what is the factor that limits
this censorship?

These and other questions are questioned from a personal gay-erotic perspective in “Exxx-plicita”, an
exhibition that seeks to confront what kind of images can be displayed as works of art since they are part of
my repertoire of sexual fantasies and desires. I represented and materialized in a two-dimensional image
these aspects that are often considered pornographic from a moral and social point of view.

If for a moment we reflect: most of us have been pornographic at some point in our lives, if we start from the
point where only the fact of being naked or aroused is considered pornographic, because in our intimacy it is
individually or collectively (in the case of having sex with a partner) happens with our naked bodies and the
exchange of affective and sexual relations, the only difference is the privacy: what is shown and what is not.
What is private and what is public.

Currently, that classic saying among the young gay community of "send me a nude: there you go" is very
common, especially on dating apps or even on social networks, this attests to the fact that we feel our need to
see nudity, to fantasize about the person who attracts us, of wanting to share an intimacy with him. Our
sexual desire will never be extinguished, it just evolves according to technology and new physical and
psychological demands as individual beings.
Exhibition Content

Kisses, caresses, buttocks, penis, touches, skins,

penetration, semen, all the ingredients for a
perfect recipe of guaranteed censorship are part
of the Exxx-plicit exhibition, which, as its name
implies, shows these scenes blatantly, without
censorship, about the fantasies, desires and
fetishes of Salvadoran artist Alberto Escobar.
IMPORTANT!

• Exposure limited to audiences over 18 for explicitly sexual

content shown.

About the Artist
I am Alberto Escobar, plastic artist from the Republic of El Salvador, I graduated as a
Bachelor of Fine Arts with a specialization in Painting from the University of El Salvador
in 2016, I have studies in Architecture and a Master in Ethnic and African Studies from
UFBA. My pictorial specialty is the human figure, mainly male nude with a theme focused
on eroticism.

Since my arrival in Brazil in 2018, the male anatomy

of the places has brought me countless inspirations
to explore various techniques and themes. I
personally believe that Brazilian male beauty has
crystallized in a way over time and evolved to
become an element that I observe as a national
brand. I had the great opportunity to meet countless
models whose anatomy is truly admirable and
unique, coming to personally consider it as perfect.
There are times when I think that the time of my life
will not be enough to produce and realize all the
ideas that are stored in my mind...
