As stated before, there are two positions as to whether the damage caused by

human activity to the environment can be reversed. As it was previously mentioned,

those who believe in the possibility of reversing the negative impacts suggest

implementing a wide range of actions such as new environmental policies and raising

awareness among people. These measures are recommended to be applied in

collaboration with science, global organizations, local authorities, and the communities.

On the contrary, the other viewpoint considers that some of the damages seem to be

irreversible. For instance, water contamination and other factors are thought to cause the

extinction of some species. Likewise, some human activities may also affect the health

of living beings, to be more precise, the microbiota, which would lead to a series of

animal losses in the world. Although this topic can be considered controversial, it could

be said that the main objective is to preserve the environment; therefore, society should

help by protecting the different natural and urban spaces, such as the seas, forests,

streets, and so on. To conclude, it should be recognized the importance of both

arguments to take a position in the face of a problem that is likely to increase over time

if there is no change.
