COURSE DESCRIPTION
This three-week course will provide an introduction to health and wellness, focusing on
herbs, complementary and integrative medicine, and exercise science. Through
lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities, students will gain an understanding of the
key principles of each topic, as well as practical strategies for improving their own health
and wellness.

ASSESSMENT
Students will be assessed based on their participation in class discussions and hands-
on activities and completing a final project. The final project will consist of a personal
health and wellness plan incorporating strategies from each week's topic.
Attendance Policy
Students who miss class are expected to make up for what is missed. If a student
misses class due to an acceptable reason, they will be given a chance to make up the
work or complete an alternative assignment coordinated with the instructor.
Academic Integrity
In the classroom, students must always behave honestly and fairly. If this standard is
not met, the student will get a failing grade on the work and might face further
disciplinary action. Plagiarism is unacceptable, such as failing to credit sources or
copying another student's work.
Class Conduct
At all times, a level of professionalism is required. Due to the nature of the classroom as
a forum for the free flow of ideas, mutual respect among students is expected at all
times. It's essential to use appropriate language and refrain from making personal
assaults on people whose views are disagreed upon
.

Academic Accommodations
We at Transformation Elevation are dedicated to making all our courses available to all
students. Please inform the instructor at least one week in advance if you have a
documented handicap and need a reasonable accommodation to fulfill the course

issues that certain aspects of the curriculum may exacerbate.
Course Outline
Lecture 1: Herbs
In this lecture, students will learn the basics of herb usage for health and wellness. They
will explore different herbs and the benefits and risks of using them. They will also learn
a little bit about the history of herbs. Students will be provided with handouts on herbs to
grow at home, falsely labeled products, and symbolisms of herbs. Lastly, students will
explore how herbs are used in different cultures from around the world.
Delivery: The session will be delivered through lecture-style teaching, class discussion,
and fun and interactive activities.
Activities: Students will participate in class discussions and play a trivia game, which
will help them remember the concepts learned during the lecture portion of the session.
In this session, students will explore the world of complementary and integrative
medicine. They will learn about different types of alternative medicine, such as
acupuncture and chiropractic care, and their associated benefits and risks. They will
also learn about the practice of mindfulness and meditation and how it can promote
health and wellness. Students will discuss the benefits and risks of various alternative
medicine programs and create a personal wellness plan incorporating the concepts
learned during the session.
Activities: Students will practice mindfulness and meditation and create a personal
wellness plan, which will help them apply the concepts learned during the lecture
